  • It was good. Pricey but not gonna find mych cheaper in London so you've gotta suck it up. the masseuse was experienced with cyclist ailments so knew her stuff. I'd also highly recommend Nic Roberts aka 'velophysio'

  • Anyone got any ideas on how to add about 150W to my threshold power in a week?

    Cheers.
    T. Iredcunt

  • Motor in seat tube.

  • The Shiv is already full of batteries and motors... ;P

  • What race you doing?

  • Some idiot entered me in a couple of 10s this weekend. I'm struggling to see me even peaking at my 10mi power let alone holding it 20min. :S

I'm still trying to break the club record but I think it'll have to wait until next year.

  • Lol

    Pointless. Unless mega float day.
I'm done for the year. Off season. No point doing anything but resting.

  • I threw them in in case TCR was aborted and I was home early and able to train. I'll race both because they're fast courses and although they'll likely be shit, it'll mean I've recce'd the courses for next year. Same reason I rode the Welsh course in the pissing rain. One day I might go back.

I'm also racing a 24hr in a couple of weeks. Because, why be an idiot, when you can be a fucking idiot.

Thankfully, it's in a team. Unfortunately that probably means people are expecting 25mph for an hour, rest, 25mph/1hr, rest, for a day... oh shit.

  • Lolololol.

Good luck! Rather you than me.

  • To be fair, you are more broken than me so I can understand why you're not as keen heheh

I got out on the TT bike yesterday. It wasn't too bad I just can't make much power, my back and my neck hurts after a while (ache not sharp pain) and potholes don't help my sitbone scars.

  • Go get a proper massage.
You'll need one. Will sort the back/neck out.

  • Yeah, I was mulling over calling my guy. He's usually busy though so it's a pain to sort out.

Fuck it, you're right, I'm going to text him now.

  • First thing I did when I got back.
You should have a few sessions. Or you'll get issues down the line.

  • I'm built Aussie Tough. I threw in a few stretches after commuting. It'll come good, I'm just being lazy. I do like a good rub down though (ooh nurse).

  • I think one is Utag 10 on a P course and one is on the F11 course.

  • Cool, I'll be at the F11 one a week today. Given it's on average downhill, my taper will be mostly gaining weight whilst resting my legs. So eating lots of cheese between now and then.

  • There's another F11 race on the 17th it seems. Also an E2 but that appears to be ECCA-only.

I think I'm too fucked to do anything decent but I've entered them now so it's too late.

  • Does anyone have any experience with Today's Plan? https://www.todaysplan.com.au/

  • riddle me this

    75TSS
    1 hour 5 mins
    148hr
    162w

    vs

    69TSS
    54mins
    161hr
    195w

surely the extra 10 mins doesn't make that much difference compared to nearly 40 watts more power.. both had no intervals and was pretty much all steady state, just at different watts.

I know id much rather be doing 10 more mins at 40w less - just doesnt seem to make sense, I don't believe it.

  • Looks ok, but plans are £40 + £5 a month. I'm starting a base plan with trainerroad in September, and just subbing rides with outdoor ones as I feel. I'm not sure if todaysplan is better than a golden cheetah/strava premium/trainerroad combo, apart from looking pretty. Someone who actually knows about these things might give a better answer though...

  • @apc I don't get it either.

    Spookily: 65/54 = 195/162 =~ 120%

    TSS = (sec x NP x IF)/(FTP x 3600) x 100

    where: IF = NP/FTP

So TSS is pretty much time * NP^2 / FTP^2

Assuming your FTP is the same for both of those, I'd expect a 20% increase in NP to be 24% higher TSS than a 20% increase in time.

    1 * 1.2 * 1.2 = 1.44 vs 1.2 * 1 * 1 = 1.2

    65 * 162 * 162 = 1705860
    54 * 195 * 195 = 2053350

Are you sure 162W and 195W are your NP values and not AP or some other 'similar' measure like xPower/Daniels EqP/etc?

  • If not average. Is one ride missing power data?
