Anyone knows what headset bearings to use for a CAAD12? I have a creak on the handlebar and tried everything except grease/replace them. Can I use Marine Grease?
On the crank, they use a white grease. What type/brand of a grease is this?

Fully integrated tapered headset bearings. Same as the CAAD10. Good discussion on replacement options here.

You can strip it all down, clean it up, re-grease the surfaces then put it all back together relatively easily. If you haven't done it before, google 'integrated headset service' or something.
Can I use Marine Grease?
Yes. It's pretty thick but good for UK conditions...Phil grease is also top notch. Standard 'shop' grease will do, too.

Might be lithium. Lithium is OK, but dries up after time.

Removed headset, apply anti slip in head tube, refit it.
Or take it to the shop you brought it from to get them to sort it out.

You took a Cannondale with even more obscure tech than a CAAD12 to Soho Bikes? They might set fire to it

Does anybody need a carbon 25.4 seatpost? It's the c2? That came with my caad 12, I swapped it for a Thomson. £15.

What is the Cannondale headset reducer part, from 1 1/4 to 1 1/8?
Is it definitely KP172?
I want to use straight forks in a tapered headset. (It's for the Kuota, but I can't find a low cost adapter.)

Can I squeeze 28mm tyres on Kinlin XC279 rim in Caad10?
-
• #6748
dunno, can you - give it a try!
-
• #6749
Yeah I could. Can I return tyre if it rubs at rear bridge?

Sorry, I was being facetious
But, you'll only really find out if you try.
You are a fucking beauty!
my si cranks had a 2.6mm spacer, a 2.5mm spacer and a .5mm shim, put them all on the nds of the rotor cranks and the 11mm rotor spacer on the drive side, cranked up the crank bolt to 40nm and instantly done. cranks spin freely, with no binding, weirdly the preload collar did not even need adjusting. am cautious that i may need to remove the cranks and a .5mm spacer and then adjust using the preload collar, but on the stand all appears fine (though it is a jumble of spacers on the nds)
chainline is perfect, so front mech needs no adjusting.
tomorrow will replace chain and cassette and then hope to get out for a bike ride
