If theres lighter options i don't see why not?
If the lighter options are both weaker and slower, light seems like an odd metric to chase.

With novatecs though, surely still under 1500?
-
• #6756
what would be a better option then?

If you can stretch your budget slightly

No Idea how good they are but these are under budget and under weight. Seems slightly too good to be true

Consider saving some money on the wheels and buying fancier/lighter tyres, tubes and cassette too.

^^ those wiggle cosines I posted up thread are 15g heavier, £90 cheaper and deeper. if the specs are true then they're pretty bonkers cheap
-

£120 of tyre and tube on £160 wheels is the one.

so many options. mind boggling.

What are you actually trying to achieve? Is there some aspect of your current wheels which is detrimental to your performance?

I got some 28h DT Swiss 350s laced to DT RR440's and they're very very nice. They were less than £500. Being a weight weenie is lame. Surely just get some Racing Quattro's?

Tubeless kit is redundant, 6800s are proper tubeless rims and come with valves, just need 60ml of Doc Blue to seal the deal
-
• #6771
Only downside is that the rims is prett narrow but still a nice improvement from normal rims.

Anyone used the Strada Bianca non-open tubular (120tpi) versions? Considering them for winter over the 28c gravel kings. Frame will take up to 45c, so looking for options under £30 a piece
-
• #6773
strada bianca for winter!?! u mad? Just put Kojaks. NOTHING can beat it for all year round road use. 35mm 350g for about £22.
-
• #6774
What's the beef with SBs? I have heard little about them tbh, they puncture a lot? How are the kojaks on that front?
-
• #6775
No beef, you could get same in half price with better puncture protection .. the tubular version of them which I had was very 'race' orientated i.e. not great puncture protection.
Kojaks are ultimate for puncture protection, roll nicely, are light and cheap. Maybe not as hipster given no gumwall.
