@dancing james @andyp @Dammit BB is the Hope BSA30 - but they don't ship it with a tool so I'm kinda thinking, perhaps naively, that they use a standard tool...
-
• #78103
nope, there is a specific hope BSA 30 tool, so i would assume its that (or any other bsa 30 tool) that you need

I need to buy "reversed" brake cables for these type of brompton brakes, right?

Really must wash it when I do the 5 year service too.

there is a specific hope BSA 30
And it's probably different from both the Rotor and Zipp ones ☺

Does rotor and race face, not sure if Hope too.
-
• #78108
Yeah I meant I hope (geddit) they use a standard (BSA 30) tool - like bbt79
I have external 24mm BB tools :) they do not fit (the bsa30 cups)
-
• #78109
After some digging around, you are correct - the tool required for the hope BSA30 bb is not the same as that required for the other common BSA30 cups. So BBT79 and the Rotor spanner etc will not work.
Seems a bit of an odd design decision by Hope, especially as their tool looks shit and can't be used on some full-sus frames as it fouls the lower linkage...facepalm

Can anyone dig up any tech info regarding Ritchey Superlogic Carbon 46 wheels? Need to swap out the freehub for 11sp and not sure about respacing things

Really silly move by hope.

I know nowt about track cycling.
The pedals they seem to be using in the Olympics: do they have straps of some kind as well as being clipless?
-
• #78113
The sprinters do, because of maximum watts

Do Olympic 100m sprinters (running) not go fast enough for aero considerations? There's a whole variety of baggy tops, big hair, etc
-
• #78115
...huge green and yellow hair extensions...

I need your help please Lundun-folk.
Shakespeare's Globe on the Sarf Bank. Can anyone recommend a good pub within walking distance for a quick but tasty Ale sup pre-gig? Ta.
-
• #78117
I was thinking this too. I think they are travelling at 25mph+ so you would have thought some tighter clothing could save a 100th of a second. Hopefully one of the gurus from the aerodynamics thread can chip in.

Do Olympic 100m sprinters (running) not go fast enough for aero considerations?
At a guess, I suspect they don't run for long enough
Continuing my guess, I'd imagine it would be like putting fairings on a tipper truck; the base shape is so un-aero that any gain you get is going to be so marginal it's difficult to pull the gain out from the noise.
That said I'm sure @umop3pisdn etc has some better formed thoughts on it than I.

There's the Founders Arms right on the riverside but I wouldn't recommend it. If you go away from the river, there are plenty of good pubs within 10min walking - the Lord Clyde just off Marshalsea Rd is my favourite. There are a couple of 'clusters' - head south to Great Suffolk St / Union St and you've got the White Hart, Union Jack (sports), Lord Nelson (probably only one ale), Charles Dickens (best of that bunch but I haven't been since the refurb), head east and you get to Borough Market which has the Market Porter (Harveys+lots of guests), the Wheatsheaf (Youngs), and the Rake (not really a 'pub' but has All The Beers). South for 'local' and quieter, East for beers and crowds. Lord Clyde for loveliness.

Nice one, thanks for the list Hoefla, top service @ LFGSS. I'm out for a quick ride today, I'll scope out your fave to start with in prep for the gig tomorrow night.

Apparently the saving is literally 0.01s
Bolt might not be worried if he's winning by 10 times that margin, but Keston Bledman failed to progress to the next stage of the 100m competition by <0.01s, and in the women's final Christania Williams missed out on a medal by less than 0.01s

Are Campag UT chainring bolts special in some way? I've just snapped one and can only find replacements in full sets of 5. Ain't nobody got time for that.
-
• #78124
Yes. Yes they are. Found some Shimano bolts. They do not work.

Question.
What should are the considerations to make, or implications to understand, of fork rake on a 72degree headtube?
Rocket Rons? If so sure they are all yours.
