Saw 1984 at the Almeida Theatre when it did its first run. Thought it was a very good interpretation of the book, and would recommend it to anyone with a passing image. Some clever staging throughout and a terrific 'revolve' moment.
Was shortly after American Psycho in the same theatre, which was comfortably one of the best things I've seen on stage ever. They've teased that it'll be making a transfer to the West End for a while now - once it does I will certainly be making a visit.
I went to see Yerma at the Young Vic on Friday. Billie Piper has come a long way since 'Because We Want To'.
Great play, very tense, very well staged and scripted, probably caused a few awkward conversations among audience members afterwards too.
In terms of intensity it problem wasn't quite as heavy as People, Places and Things, which I saw earlier in the year and which was phenomenal.
Definitely worth trying to get day tickets for though if you're some kind of layabout.
Also, has anyone seen 1984?
