• Having snapped the frame on my commuting bike, I've decided now is the time to move to something with discs and that means selling pretty much everything off the old bike. Pictures below, I'm sure you can work out what's what.

First off, the groupset. SRAM CX1/Force 1. 46T X-Sync front ring, 172.5mm cranks, 11-36T cassette, Uber components BB. Probably about a year's commuting (5,000 miles tops?). BB is new (it was installed the day the frame cracked), the chain is probably less than 1,000 miles old. The chainring is showing very little wear, the cassette still has a decent amount of life in it. There are some scuffs on the rear mech and brake levers from where I slid off on some ice in January, but you'd not notice them if you weren't looking.

    Now keeping

The wheels: Chris King R45s (ceramic bearings!) on H Plus Son Archetypes. Still very smooth, but they're probably coming up to their service interval. The freehub has some marking, as is expected with an alloy freehub body, but it's nowhere near as bad as I've found the marking on Hopes to be, and the rims look to be no more than halfway through their usable life (front has one small flat spot from a pinch puncture on a pothole).

    £450 ono

Ortlieb bags - pair of panniers in yellow tarp, and a matching yellow bar bag. Comes with the handlebar mount and a Tortec velocity rack with an LED light attached. Everything is minimal wear (apart from the rack).

    £70 ono

Some Ritchey Evo curve pro bars - 440mm wide, lovely sweep to the tops. Rear ended a van riding them once, but they seem fine. Caveat Emptor though.

    £10 ono

Shimano R650 brakes - deep drop (for use with mudguards, etc), dual pivot. Ultegra level but non-group. The best deep drop brakes I've tried - perfect for souping up that Steamroller or similar.

    £35 ono

I'm based in Birmingham although I am in London intermittently (next time is probably 20/8). Collection is preferred as it gives you the chance to look things over before any money changes hands, although I can discuss posting at cost.

Dibs followed by a PM. Whoever I think got in first, is first, unless someone I know and like jumps the queue by messaging me on Facebook.

  • Would you break the groupset? Might be interested in the CX1 crank and maybe the rear mech. Anymore close up shots of both would be good.

    Thanks

  • Hey there Tom,
Id be interested in the Ortlieb bags + Kit.
    Based in Ireland.

  • Here are the Ortlieb bags - forgot to upload the picture of them last night.

@Johnnyw I'm not interested in splitting the groupset at the moment.

@Spongeworthy2 someone else PM'd me about the panniers at about 2am last night, but you're definitely second.

  • Ok no worries, let me know if you change your mind

  • Hi Tom, Ill take them anyway if still available. Thanks, Rob

  • Wheels come with tyres if you want them - 28c Ultra Gatorskins. The front one has done a whopping 15 miles.

  • Slight change of plan, I'm keeping most of the groupset.

If anyone wants the wheels, or the Force 1 shifters, and can meet me early on Saturday morning, now is your chance for a bargain.

  • Bags have been undibsed, which means that the only thing provisionally sold now is the bars.

  • Dibs shifters pending msg

  • Sent message about the brakes.

  • OK.

Bags are sold. Bars are sold. Brakes are probably sold.

All that's left are the wheels and the CX1 brake levers/shifter ('cause I'm keeping the rest of the groupset).

  • how much for shifter/brake ?

  • Bump for the wheels. I'm in London on 14 September if that's good for anyone.

  • Is there any chance that the Ortliebs are still available?

  • Let me know if you change your mind about selling the CX1 cranks
