  • I expect that this appeal decision will itself be challenged. Is the next stop the Supreme Court now? It used to be the Lords. I don't know very much about how this works, and the only previous case I followed that went through all the stages was the Critical Mass case.

  • The House of Lords qua highest court in the land became the Supreme Court as part of a Labour push to make justice more accessible. Same package of changes that changed 'writs' to 'claim forms' and other such stuff.

    The Supreme Court, IIRC, decides whether it will consider an appeal, and it generally only do so when it's a matter of particular importance.

    Edit to add - the first appellate court can give leave to appeal to the Supreme Court too, actually.
