Luci, as always a great read.
We are in Settle, North Yorkshire this week. no bikes just chilling out with day excursions, overhearing local conversations between Kirby Stephen and Gargrave.
-
• #3978
Nice one, @BeauNidle - I'll talk to you later about it. Cheers!
-
• #3980
That is bloody genius.
-
• #3981
Give it a try with your mates - a good poker face is essential. When I'm on my own the listening bit is a joy. Audio Polaroids.

• #3982
I'm off on my hols next week, but here's a new story to set you on.
-
• #3983
Dark.
-
• #3984
I feel quite stress free today.
-
• #3985
Yeah, dark and 100% true. She wa a weird one, my neighbour. She didn't seem at all phased that this guy just went out and did that. I'm trying to finf the news story - I'll link it up when I find it.
-
• #3986
I reckon talking to the neighbours is looking a bit more likely to kill you than smoking. Maybe the reason nobody knows who their neighbours are is because they're all mentalists
-
• #3987
I really need to get myself a detatched.
In the middle of fucking nowhere.
-
• #3988
Love the gloom in that one. Nicely atmospheric.
Shouldn't burn leaves though, pile them up under the tree. Great for bugs, wildlife and it all ends up as food again for the tree. -
• #3989
I tried that.
We got rats.
Massive rats.(See story 143. Cavatina)
-
• #3990
Haha, think I remember that now, but will have a re-read! Fair do's!
-
• #3991
Off on holiday for a week soon. Needless to say I'll be reading Pantone blues again and laughing hysterically around the pool.
-
• #3993
I'm on my holidays but still found time for a story.
That's the kind of bloke I am.
Here it is - Excess Baggage.
-
• #3994
Left me with a nice warm glow that one. Definitely not how I'd describe the usual aftermath...
-
• #3995
I like to keep you on your toes!
-
• #3996
Another super change of pace Luci, the last line is particularly eloquent.
Not sure if you meant it to be a pun as Alpha works in context (in which case ignore me) but the car manufacturer is Alfa Romeo.
-
• #3997
No, it was an error! I might leave it now though - I like that double meaning!
-
• #3998
ha alfa romeos.. 'great looking on the outside, shite under the bonnet, just like italian man' as noted by my aunt from puglia in 1992
btw whenever i'm in the car with said aunt gunning at 200kmph
i often ask which side of the road should we be driving on..
the standard italian answer is always 'on the clear side'great story again Luci

Cheers mate! It was the disconcerting way that drivers in the fast lane hurtled onwards, trusting that slower cars would get out of their way in time. Saw dozens and dozens of VERY near misses.

i've only experienced that kind of driving in Italy. I love Tuscany though, stayed in a lovely hilltop town called Palaia, 40km SE of Pisa. just off the Pi-Fi-Li highway
Also have fond memories fell running up/down Pendle Hill when i were a spring chicken, mind.
Hi Luci, Missed this post.
Definitely, I'll go talk to them this weekend all things being equal.
