  • Don't you know about the phone force Field?

  • Looks like my BB shell's threads have stripped. Can someone point me to a relevant thread? I UTFS but didn't find anything.

Looks like I'll be train wankering for the rest of the week.

  • Who was it that shouted "Why are you intimidated by bicycles?", or something to that effect, at a bloke in a blue van between Brixton and Oval about half an hour ago. Surely one of you lot.

Wasn't at the scene early enough to see what the bloke did, but there seemed to be a certain amount of resentment among the cyclists when I got there.

  • H&F Council have installed MASSIVE speedbumps on the cycle lane through bishop's park. This has given me commute depression, as I usually cut through there from Putney Bridge and go up Gowan Avenue > Bishop's Road to get to Fulham Broadway as it's less annoying than Fulham Road. It seems like needless cyclist negativity to me - I never really saw anyone going fast on there as it's heavily trafficked by pedestrians.

They're seriously massive. I wonder how a wheelchair user would deal with them.

  • Tyre picked up something on Shacklewell Lane this morning. Clattered through the mudgaurd a couple of times and then ejected itself across the road... To the accompanying sound of escaping air.

I tried to find it to see what it was but couldn't locate the offending peice of debris.

Tyre has a small hole through the carcass just at the top of the sidewall. Glued a patch over the inside, will monitor (rear wheel so not too worried).

Kudos to the cyclist who stopped to ask if I was ok; nice to see a bit of community spirit.

Overall 7/10, would carry a spare tube again.

  • Hangover/10

Brixton's much harder to negotiate with a hangover than Balham and Clapham...so many buses...

  • Someone at work had there BB threads re-lined (?) for very reasonable costs at Argos (Assuming we are talking about a steel frame)

  • some fuck keeps moving my bike from one of the ceiling mounted hooks in the bike parking area at school to another hook three over to the right. stop touching my shit, dickface.

  • To all the angry, balding white men that feel the need to beep their horn because I'm more than a foot away from the curb: chill out. You've been perfectly fine with me riding there for the past year, but the change in handlebars seems to have angered you somewhat.

  • Clusterfu#k of traffic from Richmond to Chelsea this morning. Difficult! lackofsleep/10!

  • time to break out the tynan security paste.

  • Added to the 'Things that annoy Greenhell' thread.

Have you noticed the 1mm per week change in saddle height?

  • First ride/train commute with the brompton, set off a bit late, saddle still too low, will need to fettle or swap out seat post, front tyre a bit squidgy, but not a slow puncture as initially feared.. Felt a bit chilly out, but nice to just pootle along to the station...
    Will do again..

  • As an angry bald white man I am offended by this generalisation.

  • I said 'balding', these 3 men still had some hair. Sorry for your loss.

  • Ah fair enough then. As you were.

  • I am going to look into this. It might be a case of needing a new BB shell if it's too far gone. We shall see.

  • People often recommend a press fit BB in this situation- haven't used one before but could be cheaper/easier than replacing the shell.

  • Threadless rather than press fit. The later would require a shell teamed to specification.

  • I've not heard great things about threadless BBs. If that's what I have to resort to, so be it.

  • I've had a threadless BB in the past in a damaged Pompi. It was just a standard ebay one, it was alright, not nearly as bad as some of the review I read. They lasted about 2500 miles before it needed replacing and they only cost about £20

  • Hmm. Interesting. Armourtex have been in touch. They've run a die through it and apparently they cant see a problem. I'm wondering if torquing the pedals would demonstrate the issue. We'll see.
