  • salmon and cream cheese bagel

  • ^ etc: no, no and i've no idea what that is but no.

i blame the americans. they put cheese on everything.

ok the bagel gets a tiny pass - BUT ONLY BECAUSE THEY'RE DELICIOUS.

    i really want one now...

  • Is there post cooking pic of this? Looks amaze .. just googled callos .. where can I get tripe in London?

  • Lots of butchers in Brixton have it, and I've seen it in Peckham too. However, this weekend's big find was veal bones and tripe in the new Asda on Mile End Road. Can't wait to get a pot on this weekend.

Went to O Cantinho last night and the octopus was top drawer. Been meaning to try it for ages, @>>>>>> is always going on about it. I know why now.

  • I am actually going to mile end today, will have a look. What section?

  • Halal section, at the back on the right. It's unbleached so won't look as appetising as the stuff elsewhere, but then again it is an animal's stomach...

  • The war is over! you don't have to eat guts and gizzards anymore.

have you considered having a steak instead, or any of the other delicious meaty options that are not necessarily concerned with waste management / digestion / elimination?

  • what next? Gold plated rice?!?!?

  • Other options? Yes, the cabinet is also stocked with brains.

    Grey-matter omelette, anyone?

  • Turkish places often have it. I've seen it in a few of the butchers on Green Lanes.

  • Brain curry is delicious. Fuck you all.

  • Forgot that they put that scene in the movie, thought it was in the book of 'Hannibal' only

  • I forgot to take a picture, here's a shot of some more grilled octopus... So tender it practically melted in my mouth...

Sister's birthday tomorrow so bought a ton of stuff to BBQ, pork ribs, two chickens and veal ribs!?! No beef ribs in Galicia?!?

  • Gah. Want.
    Nice plates too :)

  • that's a proper mums table cloth.

  • I had a great goat's brain curry in Singapore

  • Mum got a new kitchen thirteen or so years ago when they retired and went back to Spain... I told her I'd be using the electric oven in there to do the ribs, she told me to fuck off as that oven's never been used... She does cook everything in the garage... It's a big garage BTW...

Such a peasant... No plastic covers on the sofas tho', so we're OK...

  • is your mum mrs hell's mum?

  • Growing up I had a dishwasher which we also NEVER USED.
My cousins and family friends have plastic on their furniture.
Reminds me, once at friends house, we got given Milo made with water, me and my sister (about 5 yrs old) looked at each-other and did a kiddy - "what the actual fuck?"

  • The first time I visited Melbz with my gf we stayed with her 'auntie and uncle' for a few days, her mum and dad's old raving and drinking buddies would be more accurate... Uncle Arthur's mum was still alive in those days and she did all the cooking in the backyard, Arthur and his mum were from Singapore and didn't want any nasty smells or mess in the house... Auntie Heidi, who's German, thought this was hilarious but also very practical... Beautiful big house in Fitzroy, lovely place...

  • GF's dad used to train horses at their stables down in Wood End, so this is relevant on a couple of levels... :)

  • Late to the party but devilled kidneys?

    Tripe is lovely.

You ever had dripping on toast?
