Some of the older diesel trains have windows on the door that you can slide all the way down. I've seen people hang their head out to have a fag.

From the look of the photos, it was a slam door train. I can't think of any other rolling stock that still has single doors...

There's still some in use up north and in Scotland.

A lot of the First Great Western have windows that you need to open to stick your arm out and open the door from the outside. One time I saw a couple of bemused tourists staring at the door wondering why it wasn't opening as the train left the stop they were planning to get off at.

Those look very much like single slam doors to me, which means an opening window on them. don't know the rolling stock type though.
