I use this. You only need to use a small amount per surface so a bottle lasts ages. http://www.ribblecycles.co.uk/tacx-t4765-carbon-assembly-paste/?currency=GBP&gclid=CjwKEAjwiYG9BRCkgK-G45S323oSJABnykKANIDTX1MGJz96IunskYVFsHmPoPgKntbnAKJbPsD8NxoCaePw_wcB

Looking for 32h deep rims that'll be used with a disc brake set up for long distance (200km+) road rides, as well as gravel stuff.
Unsure how deep they should be - would like to get some aero benefit but these will be ridden in all weathers so don't want wind to be too much of a factor.
Recommendations?

I find 40mm to be the max before you start to get affected by crosswinds.

Why bother with deep carbon if you've got 32 spokes? Get Hed Belgiums or something like that.

Are Archetypes still the go-to budget option for 32h wide-rim? Just thinking ahead for when I need to replace the Open Pro on my Powertap wheel.

Have Archetypes ever been budget? Go DT R460.

or Kinlin XR22T for full budget

Are Kinlins good then? My LBS is proposing replacing my under-warranty cracked pacenti with one.

are aero-gainz negated by having 32 spokes?
-
• #4613
Yes, although they don't seem to brake as well as rims from better known brands for whatever reason (Niobium in the alu alloy?). The alloy's quite a lot more resilient than HPS rims in terms of braking wear, though, which is a bonus.
I've built with XR-300, XC-279 and a few XR-19W without a problem. Bit of a price gulf between most Kinlin and Pacenti, though. I'd hold out for a warranty replacement. -

@nutsjesmoar Links provided. These are the best prices / quality across AliExpress/eBay Worldwide/BangGood. Saves you time looking around!
@Sumo Etched unfortunately and I did ask for fully black but they don't do them.
I have also ordered some Doval chainrings which will also need a coat of rattle can black. -

intrigued by the RD cage. pics when you have it installed please
You can under-torque but not over-torque. Your bars and stem will hold at 5nm if they hold at 6nm. And make sure to use carbon assembly paste.
