  • AG2R's Jesse Sergent has retired, due to complications from the injuries he sustained when he was taken out by the neutral service car at the 2015 Tour of Flanders.

  • bloody hell. hope Shimano will compensate him, was there a lawsuit of some sort or was the driver's 'sorry' good enough?

  • Having been over shadowed by his twin, Simon Yates has returned to winning ways, taking the one day Prueba Villafranca-Ordiziako Klasika* in the Basque country today.

*can't be a real classic if it has the word 'classic' in it's name.

  • Looking forward to San Sebastian this weekend, Adam and Simon both likely to race.

  • To take a conversation from the TdF thread: what can BMC do for Porte? Apparently they're bringing over Roche.

(I don't read Dutch, so maybe someone else can tell me if I'm wrong). http://www.nieuwsblad.be/cnt/dmf20160726_02399606

  • BMC have always had the resources but they've always looked like a bit of headless chicken at times in the Tour. If they get organised they certainly have the potential.

  • BMC have two main problems, their recruitment strategy and their race strategies. They seem intent on having two similar leaders for the big races, then consistently fail to manage the problems that arise from that and they are addicted to recruiting big, diesel rouleurs who don't win races when what they need is some decent climbing talent. When Brent Bookwalter is your main mountain domestique, you're in trouble.

Isn't Andy Rihs set to quit at the end of next season though? So they need a title sponsor first, as they'll not recruit the riders they need on one year deals.

  • a world first: All 4 Druyts sisters (from Belgium) will be competing in the Prudential Ride London this Saturday

  • Damiano Caruso looked pretty useful at times - didn't he finish in the top 20? What they want is another Atapuma...

  • Only the one bike between them, a win will be slim.

  • without helmets, they won't even be allowed on the course. hope they've thought about that

  • Hope so! Mother will not be pleased.

  • where's best to watch San Sebastian tomorrow? Wasn't the coverage a disaster last year?

  • Every year ;) like Strade Bianche - although it was a bit better this year. Two great races that would benefit hugely from decent camera work, race info and direction

  • It's on eurosport from 2:30. That's one place to watch it, the best place is probably in San Sebastian somewhere...

  • Who's watching the women's Classique tomorrow? Who's tipped to take the win?

  • Mollema takes San Sebastian.

  • Filthy.

  • Great win by Mollema, attacking over the top and making stick. Really enjoying watching.

  • Any news on the official announcement of riders changing teams. Ones I've seen so far:

Sagan to Bora-Hansgrohe with his entourage
    Kreuziger to OBE
Astana sign Gatto, Jesper Hansen, Michael Valgren and Moreno Moser

  • Roche to BMC.

  • Kreuziger to OBE

I did an actual WTF when I read that. What a toxic signing.
