Love it, £200 voucher, justifies kicking in an extra 800. Proper man mathematics. The names is nice, the tissot looks better in black, but more dressy.

I know the NOMOS is probably the better watch but I think I actually prefer the Tissot. Nice and simple.
Had a quick look on Goldsmiths site and these were a few things that caught my eye in the sale:

Longines and Eterna have some nice offerings too.

They also have a pre-owned Mühle Glashutte Terrasport I for £640 but it's quite large at 44mm and not very dressy which I get the impression you're looking for.

Edit: looks like it's sold?!

I've lost the battery cover on my Swatch.
It's incredibly frustrating as I've just received the replacement batteries. Stupidly I just did the cover up finger tight thinking I would be taking it off again soon.
Any ideas on where to find a replacement?
... Or how to make one? I was wondering about Surgu

Also I realised I never posted a final pic of my better half's watch.
It's very hard to photograph. The buttons are wavey in a sort of Michael Kors peach and the dial is champagne. The reds in the strap bring out the pink tones nicely so all in all it comes together as a lovely looking girl's mens watch.

Ta, I thought about Hamiltons, the Intra-Matic would have been a candidate if I didn't already have my grandad's gold-plated dress watch, which is similar. The Oris is great, but it has a black face (bit racist).

Just found hundreds of Swatch battery cover replacements when I searched on eBay.

dial and strap from dagaz arrived today so cobbled my FFF together. @ricky2slicky it wasn't as scary as it seemed, although it was scary enough that I didn't f about taking photos of the process, in order to focus on actually doing it right. photos incoming though..

Really nice. Looks gorgeous on the leather strap. Really understated and I love it.

Looking forward to seeing the pictures. How was it ordering the parts from dagaz?

Very nice, I've got a thing about GP of this era, like 'em a lot.

So nearly finished.
Waiting on a second hand to replace the one that pinged off into a black hole.
When I open the watch to fit the new second hand I'm going to give the bridge plates a light polish on the wheel because there are a few unsightly scratches.
Keeps perfect time! Should not have taken me as long as it did.

Its not entirely to my tastes but these were the parts that were easily available.
Probably more cat hairs in it than necessary.

Nice work. I find hand setting one of the trickier aspects and now use a staking set when I can. It's very easy to use too much pressure, especially on quartz watches.

Thanks mate.
I've got no idea how to set the sub second hands. It was too fiddly to do with tweezers and my fingers are too big to do it by hand.
I tried for about half an hour and the bastard disappeared into our carpet somewhere.

New arrival. 1955 Smiths 6B/542 RAF-issue. AKA "Smiths Deluxe Military". These appeared after the Omega '53 which is far more common.

Looks great Stonehedge, you should be really please with that! Remind me again, was this built from some kind of a kit or did you take a movement, rebuild it and then put it into a case?
That Nomos looks great.
