Not really a fan of single seating in a living room, but if you have to go that way I would want a chair that is adaptable to multiple positions (snerk); what you posted is kind of like that with the movable cushions.
Even more so is something like the Artek Kiki.

As far as a divider goes, maybe low book shelves?
-
• #2037
i always quite like shelving to break up room, like this but not so imposing as that room is massive you could diy a nice thing with scaff boards on the cheap.

Planning permission submitted whilst on holidays last week.
Got made out to be a "listillo" which doesn't give me great hope. Being branded a smart arse by Spanish bureaucracy in general isn't a good thing and i fully expect them to dig their heels in.
Good thing is that none of the potential neighbours are going to object to it.
I've also enquired to have it partially below the ground so that the north facing side can't be seen from the entrance of the plot. This will be a lot more costly but could be a last resort. -

Where's the sofa from? Very nice! --edit: found it http://www.sofology.co.uk/sofas/cricket

ebay search G plan room divider. Or Ladderax or string if that's up your alley
-
• #2041
I don't think ladderax are available free standing though.
-
• #2042
Ah, yeah i've seen some which go into ceiling and floor, perhaps not ladderax but something amazing installed in the basement of Alfies antiques.
Let me do more research! It was like this http://www.artnet.com/artists/ico-and-luisa-parisiroom-dividermobili-italiani-c-TXv6yBB1L7jy5CPehJIZMw2

Or possible Vitra Algue if you just want a divider?

happened upon the alexandra and ainsworth estate today
although pretty run down and messy with dead plants everywhere and tons of junk in the front areas, the building and design of the sweep of flats on this estate are quite something
if they were tidied up they could be a real gem of modern architechture
just one section of these flats would make a great single house with numerous balconies and outside areas spread over a 3 / 4 storey house
how it would look alone in a different environment would be interesting to see -

Nice one.
I get a lot of joy out of this:

Neave Brown, the first architect to have all their work in the UK listed I believe. Peter Tabori produced a very similar design for the Whittington Estate near Archway. A bit of a golden era for social housing under Camden Council.

Brilliant thanks!
@withered_preacher It's to go in the bay window, the only other option I have at the moment is

I prefer your first option, partly for the reasons I stated previously and partly because that ^ looks edible, and blue things shouldn't be edible.
Damn the new pages - @Tenderloin's blue chair -
