  • They only played five songs but were totally incredible... They were only gonna play three but they were having such a great time they just kept going...

It was a weird Q&A gig, taking questions from the crowd then playing songs... Absolutely brilliant... I got the first question in about his old Travis Bean Wedge... Both the guys were playing Travis Beans, it sounded brutal...

  • Fuck yeah Shellac! They do the Q&A thing even at their bigger shows when they're tuning. Bob Weston is a funny guy.

  • Really? I had no idea... I haven't seen Albini since Big Black... Was really impressed, I'm gonna have to edumacate myself...

  • Shellac - awesome, must have been amazing. Was looking up Albini's tour dates the other day funnily enough, wonder when they'll hit London again. Saw them at the SCALA when they previewed The End of Radio, everybody dumbstruck.

  • Maccabees were incredible again last night. Real energy; played very song like it was the last.

    Awesome.

  • I just found out that Pixies opened for The Cure on their Prayer tour back in 1989.

    Places I wish I'd been.

I was 11, but so what?

  • And only a year later they were giving my band single of the week in the NME... #truestory

  • Got a couple of tickets for Daughter this Thursday at Kentish Town Forum which I could do with selling on due to work.

    They are
    Daughter
Thu 28th Jan 2016 7:00pm at O2 Forum Kentish Town
    Unreserved Seating (Seated)

Cost £20 each + booking fees. Looking for around £35 for the pair.

  • MMISL shows after 8 fucking years of waiting. http://mmisl.com

  • Just seen slipknot live. Absolutely amazing performance, supporting acts were not bad either!!

Would recommend seeing them (slipknot that is)

  • I also saw daughter at the asylum in Birmingham...never seen so much shit in my life. Been to more riveting chess games. Great voice on her, but as boring as mice shit.

  • Sounds like it was a good one to miss.

  • New Order!

  • for my partner's 50th birthday, festical tickets for Ramblin' Man Fair to see her fav band Whitesnake plus my fav Thin Lizzy (fronted by Scott Gorham celebrating 40 years since Jailbreak and 30th anniversary of Phil Lynott's passing)..

  • Saw Gypsy Kings playing at Kew the Music last Sunday, epic guitars, voices, percussion. If you were among the 7000 dancers in the Park you'll know how good that concert was....

  • I see tickets for Bjork at the RAH go on sale on Friday. Are you listening @Soul?

  • I saw. Gutted but I can't make it. I'm in the US for the entire of September.

That'll be the second major gig I've missed this year after radiohead.

Still, pixies tickets for November also go on sale this morning. They will be mine.

  • keen to see Metronomy play Lundun-town whenever they are next on the bill somewhere..

  • Had wondered about Pixies. Saw them at Field Day the other year and was underwhelmed, but it was nice to be reminded of when I was a wee nipper going to see them in Vienna and in, erm, Gloucester Leisure Centre back in Doolittle days. Will wait and see if Luddlet #3 tries to push me into Bjork tickets - it was he what took me to Ally Pally for the Biophilia gig.

Also wondering about Stars of the Lid at the Barbican in october but none of my friends seem interested. Sniff.

  • Stars of the Lid will be magical.

  • Never seen pixies live so looking forward to ticking them off my list.

I have a very extravagant gig coming up in October; flying out to New York to see Steely Dan perform Countdown to Ecstasy a my dad's 60th birthday gift.

  • Anyone going to womad?

  • Got tickets for Kano and Jamie T. On Friday 8th October and Saturday 9th October. Both in Brixton. That's gonna be a fun weekend.

Kano has put some real effort into his stage show since he's come back. Seen him in Glastonbury and he tore up the stage on his own, No hype man seen.

Jamie T is always a great live gig, will be the... 5th time seeing him? From a tiny pub gig after he done the itunes fest in camden, to headlining ally pally and subheadlining the other stage last year. Great to see him back again :)

  • @skydancer yep. Got free tickets even because a mate group up near Malmesbury. First UK festival I've been to, and line up looks pretty fun!
