I'd look at getting closer to 52 minutes if I were you. I rode the Shaftesbury middle marker event last year in similar conditions to Saturday, got to the turn in 35 mins, back in 25 for a 1:00:19. A couple of months later I managed a 56:36 on a half decent day.

A photo of me during aforementioned slow 25-any position advice? Unfortunately it was taken on a slight downhill so is probably more flattering than it should be.

Get a better skinsuit.
Overall setup looks great though - you need a more lairy front wheel!

I think a 52 would be possible, but only on a very good day. Still, it's something to aim for. The club record was lowered this year on the E2/25 to 52:09, which isn't entirely beyond reach...

All on the list, just need to wait for money to appear-a trispoke is about 30 techno nights atm so don't have the willpower to save for one.

Set a course PB on this evening's club 25, by 2m20s, at 57:18. 2nd on scratch, but no chance of a win either on Vet's standard or handicap. I had a handicap of only 50 seconds on the scratch rider, who won on scratch and beat me by over a minute. Not old enough to have a chance on standard. Still, a PB is a PB.

Not old enough to have a chance on standard
All the old people are constantly complaining that standard prizes always seem to go to 40-somethings since they changed the table.

Turns out you're right. I came 1st on standard. My first solo victory TTing. Yay!

Gear cable routing question.
I have a TT frame with internal cable routing for the RD which goes into the Headtube and down the Seatstay. I'd prefer an internally routing gear cable through the extension and then bending into the HT. Trouble is I have a fair amount of stack and this would require a fairly tight 'S' bend from the exit of the extension, to the HT entry-point.
Aero-wise, I know this might be a bit of a mess (ideally I'll find a cheap 10sp Di2 soon), but for the interim would it be better to:
a. Tight S-bend from extension to HT entry.
b. Sort-of spiral the outer from the extension, crossing the headtube over to the left side of the frame and then back to the right-side for the cable-entry point.
c. Suck it up and route the cable externally to the extension giving a clean bend.
??
I'll try to take photos later unless the concensus is c... -

Strangely enough I have the exact problem!

Segmented housing and a? Photos will help, I'm struggling to visualise that.

So I played around with the outer cabling last night. Think I'm gonna go with b. An s-bend Is too tight whereas it turns out the bend in the spiral is no tighter than a loop at the rear derailleur.
Front derailleur cable is fine as that enters the downtube. -

Epic ride by Peter Harrison last night to do the first ever 19 on h10/2, 19:40 on what certainly didn't feel like float conditons.

first ever 19 on h10/2
Or, to put it another way, what we believe to be the first 19 on the current version of the course. Pretty sure either Dr Hutch or Dangermouse went under on the old course.

Why they no new course code it, if it's new? Shouldn't the current one be H10/2a or something?
-
• #13817
Why they no new course code
Some districts do that, LWDC sometimes does but I think historically they tend to do it if the revision is temporary or optional. It may have been called H10/2A when it was first changed, and then the A dropped once everybody had effectively forgotten the old course. If the H25/2 got a new letter every time it changed, we'd be riding the H25/2K by now

Hey TT dudes, free, pretty much new Adamo full gel road saddle if anyone wants it? Someone very kindly chucked it in on a frame I bought but have no use for it. Drop me a PM (collection only in London). Cheers!

Gone now, thanks!
Hi Graham, I wasn't aware of this. I posted on behalf of the organiser so I'll let him know now. Thanks for pointing this out.
