It's good to see that no-one is immune to montezuma's revenge...

Was nearly choked with laughter/tears at work, brilliant! Amazing how someone's utter, debilitating embarrassment can bring so much light to someone else's life! The aftermath must have been truly epic, turbulance, plus the voilent aroma wafting round the cabin, your man whimpering a muffled sorry to everyone and no-one and then the sound of rustling sick bags as the first person loses their lunch.

I think that story was originally in the Foffa thread, an epic thread that became a magnificent shitfest. Someone on Thursday reminded me of a story I put in there but I forgot what it was now - I was going to polish it up (so to speak) as a blog post at some point.

It was a fairly grotty hole, to be fair, but it was OUR grotty hole! Sadly bricked up now, like the cinema, like the Goth club...

It is sad that I had to check that Cradle of Filth and Mini Cheddars were about in 1993 before I could continue reading this story?
Luckily for me they both have wikipedia pages.
-
• #3918
Do they?? Mini Cheddars came out some time in the eighties I believe. Bloody lush they are with a couple of cheeky pints. I might indulge later!
-
• #3919
Mini cheds were 1984, back then they were the future.

I grew up in Devon where the most cosmopolitan snacks were Skips and Quavers. None of this la di da small biscuit nonsense you had in Leeds.
I can only imagine that some forumengers spent their adolesence sipping unoaked chardonnay and asking the maitre d' for a pack of mini locally sourced sustainable ham hock in a burdock jus with steamed chard and braised celeriac.

Skips and Quavers
They're basically the same thing
-
• #3922
WTAF?
Skips are concave discs of polystyrene flavoured with "prawn cocktail", fizz on your tongue and stick to the roof of your mouth.
Quavers are twisted strips of polystyrene flavoured with "cheese", crackle on your tongue and jam in your teeth.Completely different.

I stand corrected. I should have said.
They're basically flavoured polystyrene
