  • @jonny @Kat_Balou

it's been closed the last couple of times I've walked by. Might be worth calling first...

  • The HEX people are really nice Jonny.

  • Could have a word at the Colonel Facett around the corner from our office. G.

  • thanks for suggestions all. i will invariably hit up a pub that i am a 'regular' at throw my weight about if they are trying to show the tennis.

sorry to hijack the thread for a bit there. back to the racing talk

  • I'm pretty sure he said that and also that even the 'big gear' wasn't big enough and he could have done with bigger. IIRC. (edit - what @Velocio said)

That graphic is interesting. Seems Cav's sprint was pretty much perfect, but interesting that McLay peaked only slightly before him and at almost exactly the same speed (if actually a tiny tiny bit faster).

  • In Gran Canaria for a wedding, my Eurosport subscription works over here (including an English commentary stream) and the hotel WiFi covers the beach. Life is good.

  • Current break:
Greg Van Avermaet (BMC), Alexis Vuillermoz, Jan Bakelants (Ag2r-La Mondiale), Vincenzo Nibali (Astana), Luis Mate (Cofidis), Simon Geschke (Giant-Alpecin), Daryl Impey (Orica-Bike Exchange), Tony Martin (Etixx-QuickStep), Tsgabu Grmay (Lampre-Merida), Sylvain Chavanel (Direct Energie), Jasper Stuyven (Trek-Segafredo), Oliver Naesen (IAM Cycling), Dani Navarro (Cofidis), Pierre-Luc Perichon (Fortuneo-Vital Concept), Alexey Lutsenko (Astana), Steve Cummings (Dimension Data), Cesare Benedetti, Paul Voss (Bora-Argon 18), Jurgen Roelandts (Lotto Soudal), Angel Vicioso (Katusha), Kristijan Durasek (Lampre-Merida), Antoine Duschesne (Direct Energie), Borut Bozic (Cofidis), Alex Howes, Matti Breschel, Sebastian Langeveld (Cannondale), Vasil Kiryienka (Sky), Paul Martens (LottoNL-Jumbo), Gorka Izagirre (Movistar).

  • crazy that a yellow jersey leader with a 5 min plus lead is allowed to get in a break which has a 5 min lead!

I know he still wont challenge but it is quite funny really.

  • Will be interesting to see what happens with Nibali and Cumming if they don't get reeled in

  • 122rpm really isn't that fast for a track rider. Cav's easily got that kind of leg speed out of the saddle.

  • Rooting for Cummings!

  • Good shout on Hex/Pretorius for Ventoux... my only concern is my work tends to go from 'yeah, plenty of time to watch the tour with your feet up' to 'oh shit, we all need to work like maniacs until midnight' at the drop of hat! So, I'm not the most reliable drinking partner I'm afraid.. keep me posted if you are going though please..

  • Will be hard in that group for Cummings, I can see it splintering first then the cooperation ending early.

  • Commentary gone for me on Eurosport, anyone else?

  • Online? Commentary only on Eurosport one.

Was that a new Prevail on an Astana head I glimpsed a minute ago?

  • Hahaha I swept away from the channel by mistake. Thanks.
The calls of 'allez' were strangely theraputic.

  • Go on steve :)

  • No problem for me

    edit ignore refresh before post

  • Steve on a solo attack with 25.5km to go. Incredible scenes

  • If he makes this stick it'll be a big fuck you to BC Olympic selectors.

  • This is great...

  • It really is. 50 seconds on Nibali at the moment. I hope he keeps it up

  • Would this be 4 of 7 for Dimension Data too? That's pretty impressive.

  • Yup, along with the yellow and green jerseys

  • Steve Cummings up by 1.05
