  • toilet duck

Kills 99.9% of germs, and leaves your breath lemon fresh.

  • i can feel the colours...!

  • The only dwelling I did is "arseholery begets arseholery"

Next time I'll try to blow kisses ;)

  • I always enjoy that one - it's guaranteed confusion on their part / soul-searching about their masculinity

  • Made-in voyage on the new new bike this morning.

Brakes are ok. The front disc rubs a lot - I fucked around with it but don't know how to make it less ON so I'm just going to wear it out, like an angry prick that I am.

I can endo around the corner to the office so they work but I reckon as the pads wear down, the levers are going to be too close to the bars to be safe. I need to work out how to adjust them better.

  • ...why?

  • As I'm a female maybe another gesture is better :P

But it will still be confusing as hell if somebody you've just been aggro blows kisses ;)

  • Sorry - that was way too presumptuous on my part! I suppose I was inadvertently referencing the times that I've blown kisses (never get a number from the drivers though, need to up my game, thinking of getting some eyebrow raising in there)

For sure, I think the trick can sometimes be to just be disarming as possible.

  • the new cycle lane lights at stockwell and e&c are so fucking slow going northbound. feels like an age if you miss the green phase.

  • So don't miss the green phase duh.

  • Best way to stop disc rub on my Kinesis is to lose the bolts holding the calliper to the frame, apply brake, re-tighten bolts.

  • My kinesis was rubbing when out of the saddle at first. It turned out I had to kind of start afresh with how the front caliper was attached to the adapters. Loosened everything a bit, then made sure caliper was square to the rotor, then tightened it back up. Was fine after that.

Also, I did my own brakes and was a bit worried about the amount of lever throw, but it hasn't got any worse over the last 1700 ish miles so they seem to self adjust ok for wear. Any pics of your build yet?

  • I removed wheel, hit levers, and reinserted wheel - brakes good.

    See TCR thread.

  • Had an awesome encounter with a black cab driver today. Was riding along the Kings Road eastbound and was overtaking the traffic on the outside. Cab coming out from a side road to my right, who wishes to turn right onto the Kings Road. The traffic is bumper to bumper and stationary. He sees me and snarls and starts to pull out. I have no inclination to slow or stop for him and shake my head. He looks furious and decides to pull right across the road to close the gap to halt my progress. But the fucking idiot misjudges the gap between his bonnet and the line of stationary traffic, so he scrapes along the side of a car as he t bones it at walking pace.

He then goes mental and tries to blame me for his error.

Tl;dr - cabbie tried to block my progress but instead wrote off the side of someone's car.

  • Shouted 'allez les bleus' as I passed the car decked out in Portugal flags. I'm a dick when I've had a few.

@dancing james Your thing sounds more fun.

  • Did you offer to be a witness to salt the wound appropriately?

  • No worries :)

  • I think someone tried to mug me this morning.

  • That's definitely odd.

What had they thrown? A stick? Hoping it went in your wheels?

  • You do realise that they best way to defend against this type of attack is to go double-disc!

    Now's your chance.

You should commute on something like this:

(Seriously though, have you told the police?)

  • Also... where was this? Do you have a Google map of the location?

  • Little did they know that they were dealing with the man who peels and eats bananas whilst ascending King Alfred's Tower.

  • Yeah, I wasn't paying attention but wondered why they were wearing balaclavas in this weather. Then something hit the wheel so I thought I'd have a look when I hit to work.

  • Bright and early muggers. Good job it was a half-arsed attempt. But worth reporting in case they find a more suitable victim.
