Mack hubs

I have a pair of silver low flange 36h superlights for sale, if anybody is interested please PM me.

hubs were finished incredibly quickly, does anyone know if he includes the paypal fee in his requested amount?

I think I put a few euros on top and choose share in paypal or something.

They were for mine.

My front mack hub has developed a fair amount of play, from inspecting the hub I don't see any obvious way of adjusting them. Is there anything I can do? Bearings aren't exactly the smoothest so they might need replacing and from what I've read online it isn't the simplest of jobs..

ha its not the wheel you sold me, I've got another set. @dicki they are the high flange version so I believe they're sealed

Phew! All macks are sealed btw

pull off the outer covers or use an allan key to unscrew them
then get an old screw driver / drift and knock the bearings out with a hammer ... carefully
if you've got an axle in there whack the axle and it plus a bearing will pop out

you can use a socket set and a hammer to knock the new ones back in

be slightly wary as there might be some small differences between mack and hope
i've done a few hope hubs recently front and rear, it's not too difficult once you know what you are doing

just remember the order you dismantle it in and keep the bits in the right order
bearing ref. no.s should be written on the bearing for re ordering

Cheers for the help. Don't really want to mess them up so I'll probably end up just taking it to a bike shop and letting them sort it out.

make sure you get fag or skf bearings installed as they are the better quality ones
should cost between £10 - 20 per side

Will do. It it odd for the bearings to have worn down so quickly? I've been using the wheels pretty much daily for 8/9 months but I though that they were meant to be bulletproof?

Email Mack and give him shit about it, mr nice guy, have him send you replacement bearings to the hubs spec
