• Is the Open UP old hat? Lovin' it.

  • I also like it. A lot.
There is cp thread with a brown one. But can't find it

  • That rear clearance... Good for instagram, but wouldnt ride it like that

  • yep bought the rack and forks just for that. Finding 1 1/8th forks, with similar a-c (410ish) on most older mtbs, with braze ons turned out to be impossible so I thought I might as well just got for it. front rack is super solid with 4 mounting points so pretty happy with it.

  • Not sure quite how they broke down in cost but i had

    Lower eyelets on the fork
Mid eyelets mounted in the leg
Rear braze ons as there were 2 mounts each on the dropout but none on the seatstays!

total was 70 quid for all that, which I think is a great price tbh.

turn around was two weeks, Rob works in a shared workspace though so I think lead times can vary as he gets a few jobs in, rents the space and does a few at once.

also, hes racing the transcontinental soon so will be out for a while

  • aye, that's a good price, thanks!

  • So those are (finally) on preorder at http://rawlandcycles.com/

I visit http://bigforestframeworks.com/ here in Berlin today.
He seems to know his mountainbikes, maybe I manage to get myself a bike that flies over the sandy roads around here for next year. I have one thats fun, but Alu and a lot of compromises.

  • What flat pedals can people recommend these days? Commuting, bike pack and light off road.
I remember dmr v12 from back in day but they look chunky. Hope and easton look nice. Any recommendations?

  • mks mt ft
    serious, re-packable bearings and all

  • Readers wives alert... and wanting some opinion and advice, as I've never built a bike younger than 1985 vintage!

So my first attempt at the basis for an adventure bike / weekend child carrier. It was cobbled together as a single speed in the garage tonight + in the middle of wrapping bars as I type. Not thought about gearing options yet. 1x9 or 1x10 or could put in fd also? Not likely to ride anywhere too knarly though so 1x is likely.

I'm guessing a front rack is (almost?) certainly not an option with the RC31 forks. So rear maybe + child seat + frame bag will do.

Probably loads of stuff to swap out immediately and eventually. Definitely mudguards to come soon too. But it's a start.

  • As some of you know my monster was stolen!
Help me find it, or a replacement, please.

  • Fuck, sorry to hear this :-(

Wasn't the Kona it replaced also stolen?

  • No. So sorry to hear this also. I hope it turns up, and quickly.

  • anyone seen a front rack that mounts to canti studs and at an eyelet by the dropout?
I have panniers and want to put a sleeping roll on top, so a platform would be good.
    Also that costs under £50!

  • You mean like this?

Obvs thats a Nitto so its ‎¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥

  • What is it?
    can it single speed?
Why the long fork? (they even tried to make it apear shorter)

  • Curve (Australian?). Long fork coz that headtube looks quite short.

  • So you can swap to a bouncy fork without messing up the geo.

  • probably (the long fork) because they want clearance bigger than enve cx and therefore have to look for mtb forks, which are sus corrected. Havent seen meny non-sus carbon forks.

not cheap to design and produce new molds

  • Thanks. I kinda knew already, just thought it looked weird.
All antennas out in search of new monster mobile atm, so...

  • Yes, this is just what I need but for cheapz. The lowrider bits aren't really needed as my panniers will hook on the top and lock into the bit halfway down it.

  • Vassago Fisticuff. The new version will be single speedable like the old one but now disc only.

    Heres my old one.
