  • Two questions please.

    1) I have a ant problem, I don't seem to be able to find the nests. My other half doesn't want to use poison as her mum has a dog.

    Any tips?

    2) I'm after a decent non-stick frying pan. Any recommendations?

    Cheers.

  • Get an anteater?

Tefal stuff is nice and not pricey. I like my le creuset very much too, but it left a hole in the wallet.

  • A normal Sainsburys frying pan has been surprisingly good for me over the past year or two!

Apparently, they don't stick if you fry them slowly over a low heat and stir continuously.

  • I bought a ceramic lined one by sainsbury's in the sale for about £7. Its very not sticky.

  • I'd second tefal. They do eventualy wear out but it's after a few years of almost daily use.

  • Mine is starting to go after about 5 years. There are a lot of different models of pan though with various degrees of longevity of non-stickyness.

  • Cheers.

Ill probably go Tefal then. Kinda want one with a oven proof handle just in case.

At the moment we only have heavy cast iron ones, which seem a bit impractical for an omelet.

  • Go to TK Maxx - got a Tefal one from there a few years ago for what now feels like a disposable price. Still going strong.

  • tk maxx for all your frying pan, apres ski and novelty boiled euro-sweet needs.

    edit: #osnap

  • Will a Cane Creek BAA0696K 1 ¼" 47mm OD bearing work as a replacement for a TH 970 which is 46.8mm OD?

  • Are these ants indoors?
Any ammonia based household cleaning agent will remove their formic acid based trails to whatever they have found.

  • don't forget the copper coin trick, works a treat.

    and boiling water. that too.

  • the headset on my dolan track champion has considerable play.
I suspect it might be due to my brilliant idea to cut the crown race to get it to fit my fork.

is it possible to source a single crown race from alpina?

if not, what alternatives will fit:
    Alpina 1 1/8 inch 36 x 45 Hidden Headset - Black

    many thanks!

  • You might be surprised at how few copper coins are made from copper - try running a magnet across your loose change...
... not that ants carry magnets?

  • "Copper" 1p and 2p coins do contain copper, but the bulk of the material is Nickel, which is harder and (AFAIK) cheaper.

  • I think many are now copper plated steel?
Probably makes little difference to ants!

  • and it works? cheers

  • Nickel responds to magnets too.

  • I suspect it might be due to my brilliant idea to cut the crown race to get it to fit my fork.

    That'll be why.

Borrow one of those, turn the fork upside down, fork end up, crown race tool on the bottom, then while holding both, bang the end of the crown race tool on the ground to hammer in the crown race.

Less likely to damage fork end that way.

  • Just want to confirm something, a chainring with a hole for a pin means its technically a road chainring right? not track like a seller on ebay is claiming.

How much should I be looking to pay for a used campagnolo super record chainring like the one in the above photo?

    heres another one
