  • PLanet X had some on offer.

No where in europe has them cheap though. At least none that I found. Probably expensive because they come in a Box big enough to ship a mattress.

  • I bought some standard tan wall isogrip corsas instead.

At £25 a pop I'll take the watt increase in rolling resistance.

  • Were you using the Isogrip when you had your off the other day?

  • Yeah. Paves. 27mm rear 25mm front.

My BB mounted rear brake was being a twat though. It seems to need to be set up With pads exactly the same distance from the rim. I'd just swapped over from my wide carbon Wheels, so the gap was a little big and uneven. Spent some time dialling them in yesterday. Had Nice braking again last night.

I'm Lucky enough to do a lot of 12+% climbing on wet, sometimes snow covered roads. You can easily feel if a tyre has shit grip. The isogrip vittoria feel much like veloflex to me. Maybe not quite as sticky as FMB. But my FMBs mutated and failed so I wont be buying them again.

  • I just got them from Wiggle, in Colorado from Friday so I need to stretch/glue/pack these as spares.

  • I dont think you could have done cheaper or quicker.

  • I've done a bit of racing on the corsa SC tubs recently and can confirm they're rather nice.

  • I had a black corsa on the rear that I'd inhereted from a mate thats moving to G+

Couldnt have been much tread left. By the time I raced it. It had 3 bare Cotton patches. Never noticed untill after. Have replaced it With another heavily worn corsa.

Will be Nice to have some New tubs for a change.

  • where were they £25?

  • Norsky webstore im afraid.

    Only in 23mm.

    Oldschool.

  • Was going to offer to bring some over next month.

    Look sold out though :(

  • Fucking hell you weren't joking about the size of the boxes.

  • Those Corsa G+ are stretching now, oddly they behave as if they've already got a layer of glue on them - stick to themselves when folded and so forth.

  • I think the base tape is less absorbant. Shouldnt have any actual glue on it though.

My corsas have stupid valves. Cores are removable. But the whole valve screws off.

Think i need new extenders now.

  • Ah fuck I'd forgotten about that, I'll need to check that they go in a 202 without an extender.

The basetape is deffo sticky, I wonder what it is coated in? Will see if it sticks to the old rims the tyres are stetching on.

  • Pretty sure Vittoria started using a proprietary valve/extender system - are the valve stems red anodised? If so you'll need to get the matching extenders.

  • Really?
These look like they would screw onto the little threaded nub. Left when the valve is removed. Then I can screw the vittoria vlave onto that.

The vittoria ones are pricey and I need 2 different lengths (88mm, 60mm wheelset)

  • Yeah, the Corsa G+ stems are black, and the valve unscrews.

  • And the stems on the Corsa Speed G+ are annoyingly long if you're using a disc wheel. No room for a Hirame pump head on Zipp discs.

  • As long as they work with my 202's I am happy (which a bit of eyeballing this morning says should be ok).

  • Pretty sure they will. My 202s work with Corsa SCs, and I'm fairly sure they have a shorter valve than the Corsa G+s.

  • Really?
These look like they would screw onto the little threaded nub. Left when the valve is removed. Then I can screw the vittoria vlave onto that.

I can't say with 100% confidence but i believe so, have you any extenders on other tyres you can try? A friend had a bit of a 'mare with punctures and short valved spare tubes in Mallorca this spring and he bought some of the red Vittoria extenders which wouldn't screw into his tubes so he had to go back and buy some black ones too.

See posts 4 & 5 here (it's the first thing I came across, didn't look very hard).

  • Cheers.

Yeah looks right. I have plenty of Kms left on my current tubs. So dhoukdnt be in a mad hurry. Ill try the px ones.

  • New (old) eBay purchase turned up with ageing Vittoria/Wolber tubs. Still hold air fine, but I'd imaging it's only a matter of time before they let go.

Want a 23mm tan walled tub to replace them. Ignoring the awful Rally/Giro tubs, choice seems to come down to Challenge Criteriums at £43, Vittoria Corsa G+ at £57 and Veloflex Criteriums at £62 (on Ribble).
Also Dugast Strada Cottons on Mantel for £59

Anyone tried the Challenge Crits ? Any alternatives I've missed ? Anyone seen these for cheaper ? ta !

  • I have Challenge Crits. Really like them. Seem to ride much like a Veloflex.
