  • So these "markets". How much losses are from people that invest fuck all in the UK anyway? Offshore cash doesn't help me, spending here does.

(It has serious consequences for UK credit ratings etc. obv.)

  • I just can't grasp the PLP. It boggles the mind. They are recreating the self-inflicted wound that is Brexit on the micro level.

  • The question was at least partly rhetorical - there was very little chance that a government would talk down their economic success and a near certainty that they'd talk it up. I guess the only question is to what level. Not blaming the Tories for that - i assume every government ever has painted a rosier picture than reality

  • Balance of Payments deficit, 7pc of GDP at the most recent measure?!

  • I have no idea, but the scale of the effects, as this message illustrates, is immense. not only for UK

  • you could blame the Tories though for the reality of the economics of Austerity though on the Labour heartland areas that voted Leave, allegedly largely due to discontent,

("Sure Start centres closed", "libraries closed", ,,)

  • Eagle and Healey now gone too. Updated "Guess Who" chart may be in order.

  • How quickly can Labour hold a leadership vote? This is mental.

  • How deep is the talent pool in the PLP? This an area I know nothing about.

Corbyn may win another leadership election but it's looking increasingly as though he will not be able to form a credible shadow cabinet if he does.

  • Both Eagle sisters now gone.

  • I feel sick due to politics. For the second time in 4 days. The PLP have collectively pulled a Cameron.

  • fucked a dead pig?

  • Samantha?

  • Has anyone noticed how much SamCam looks like DavCam in drag?

  • Honestly though, who would want the job right now? The political mandate to stand up in front of the country and shrug your shoulders whilst gently weeping.

  • Sarkozy has spare time these days.

  • So, Article 50.

There would need to be a debate and a vote before anything is done about it, right?

  • ^ like a referendum you mean?

  • Needs parliamentary approval.

  • A proper vote, in Parliament.

Does any one person have the authority to unilaterally invoke it themselves? Is there a statutory instrument, or does there have to be an Act passed?

  • It can be started without a vote.

  • Try Anne-Marie Trevelyan, MP for Berwick upon Tweed. I'm sort of convinced she is Cameron

  • Btw, if you want to see what Vote Leave promised you can check their web page.

Oh wait, not. They seem to have removed the record of promises and speeches. Huh.

(of course, these things are archived. but as we now know, leavers don't internet).
