That looks like it would be fitting to catch someone with your username.

I really like my MKS GR-10s, hard to get in this country though, and they need some kind of clip / restrap really as they don't have much grip. Nice big platform though.

I've still got Rob Warner-pedal shaped scars from teenage years of repeatedly stacking it on my mountain bike. :(

+1 for the MKS Lambda. Such good pedals for the price.
I also really rate Blackspire pedals. Super grippy. -

Today I clicked over 7500 miles on my Enigma. i bought it 3 years ago as a do everything bike, these days its my luggage carrying tourer and winter trainer but it has never let me down, needed unreasonable or unexpected maintenance and is still my easiest to ride most comfortable bike. At the time it was a choice between an off the peg high spec Specialised Roubaix or a wait of months and lots more money for this. Except while I was waiting for it to be built, I have never regretted it for a moment (although I did later buy a Cervelo for outright speed). I now understand the maxim "The quality remains long after the price is forgotten".

Did it come as disc bike / with those forks?
-
• #12413
Custom build - although they have since added a disc model to the range. The plan was to use these forks but again these were a custom build and had an even longer build time than the frame so it had a different fork for the first few months till the Wound Ups arrived.
Also has special order Royce hubs.
Original saddle was Enigma's own but it wasn't a great fit for me so I replaced it with the armchair that is on there now.

Nice. Very different build that is. What is that fork about, why did you want it?
I had pretty bad problems with the seatpost on my ethos, not being able to tilt the saddle level and getting numb. Also had the stem swapped, mechanic here did not like it when i serviced it and said the bolts etc were weird / unsafe. Last week i threw an arione on. Otherwise stock.

How (un)safe would putting a wald basket on my ENVE carbon cross fork be ?
Its currently on my all city, attaches at axle and clamps to the bars..
-
• #12416
All pressure is on bars and quick release skewer, no?

• #12417
yeah it would be

3 / 4 years ago there were a lot less options in road disc forks. Most were CX style or horrendously expensive or heavy or both.
The Wound Up met the criteria in terms of price, handling, weight and capacity (ie I'm a fat old man (85kg) and these were for touring with 10 - 15 kg of luggage.
Personally I like the distinctive look although it tends to be marmitey.
ETA It probably looks front high in the photo - combination of bad picture and hanging the bars over the fence.

It's not pretty but it looks comfy.
Hey do you still have that Raleigh Dynatech I sold you a couple years ago? -
• #12421
Stick 650b for more speed and comfort.
-
• #12422
No, a friend got his bike trashed in a crash and he had no money for a new one so I gave him the Raleigh.

• #12423
That's nice if you. I was just wondering since I hadn't seen your username in a while. That was a cool bike. Anyway, as you were
