The brinkmanship begins... Parliament have to pass it first, no? The Commons are pro-Europe, will they ignore the referendum? Can they even do that?

I am so glad I have two passports, one of which is still in the EU. Never been so disappointed in the country of my birth.

I was reading an article in the Indy earlier saying that the referendum isn't actually legally enforceable, something about the way it was drafted... Is true?

A lot of people are very angry and need to work through that before moving on.

We've had enough anger and division, enough name calling and shouting. Sadiq Kahn's statement was defiant and optimistic, all those moaning and crying racist (and making lame snide comments like "alot of things baffle you") could learn alot from him.

I'd have Kahn for Labour leader like a shot, but he'll probably serve at least a full term as Mayor, which I'm definitely optimistic about.

It's a statement of defeat, I voted for the betterment of others. I'm in a minority, I feel no urgent need to reach out and overcome other peoples problems.

Pretty much. It is however a mistake that Cameron et al. can afford to make. What does he care really? His tax efficient savings aren't in sterling, he can readily just up and fuck off to wherever's nice and warm.

Borders are a stupid way to sort people. I'll have more in common with a secular Muslim in Syria than a local flags/traditional marriage/themmuns lot.

Little consideration seems to have been given to the opportunity to work in Europe that a lot of people may now miss out on, although it's obviously yet another area where no-one knows what's actually going to happen.

The referendum holds no legal weight at all, it is an advisory to parliament. There needs a majority vote in the commons to instigate the release clause.

So 2 years to exit from the point of Article 50 coming into force, so 2+ years.

The final bluff, 51.9% of the UK has called out on the EU.
Can the politicians accept the reality and actually work something out. It could be turned around.
The Euro MP's on the telly now seem to be demanding that article 50 starts now so talks can start now, and if Cameron stalls it's in no ones best interest.

The long game continues.

It's much less your problem if you live in a wealthy part of the country and aren't currently helped a lot by EU employment regulation.

Longer term, sure, political unrest and the the rise of the far right is bad news. Right now I'd be keeping a close eye on just what bits of EU regulation are going and which are staying if I lived in Sunderland.

Cornwall, which voted Leave, is now seeking urgent assurance it won't lose all that EU funding it had relied upon.
