  • definitely leaning towards the Soma Wolverine. Seems versatile enough to be used in a ton of different situations. Now need to figure out where to buy it. CycleWorx seems quite expensive....anyone know any European/UK retailers that stock it?

  • That bike looks like a lot fun. What are the tyres like? And where did you get them?

  • Looks like they don't stock it in 60cm :(

  • We're experimenting a bit with this, I hope it turns out ok. He is the same guy who built the stem.

  • Stock tyres, Kendra Kwick.

@edscoble Would you recommend the Hollowtech/Alfine combo over GXP/SRAM 300 for low maintenance commuting?

  • Yes, if you don't mind running 3/32 chain, Shimano BB are cheap as chip.

You only got 39t and 45t, don't know if it come in 165mm.

  • Mmmm

  • Very nice! (photo hurts my eyes)

  • Love it, well done!

  • Quite like the look, so no need for hours of polishing. Especially the chainwheels would take a long time to get them half decent.

  • You only got 39t and 45t, don't know if it come in 165mm.

There's a 42T option too, but if you want anything other than 170mm you have to look elsewhere.

  • Forget about the 42t, least 3 choices.

  • Been commuting on my Seven the past 2 weeks since my pompetamine got stollen. While it makes the ride to and from work seam much much shorter it really makes me aware of all the shitty parts of the road. Huge jump down from 35 to 25mm tires. All in all enjoyable but definitely not commuter material.

    Where do you go ?

  • Thanks !

I stay ! Only the bike flies away... :)

  • I just got a 60 through from hug bike shop in finland: https://hugbikeshop.fi/kauppa/soma-wolverine-v2-runkosarja . Took 5 weeks for them to get stock in (seems stock is low all around), but would imagine they still have a few. Hope to have mine on the road tomorrow.

  • First build on the road this morning

Currently a mix of parts from my old Kaffenback, a couple of new bits, and some spares whilst I await the final few parts to arrive (black MTB rear derailleur and 0x601D crankset).

  • Looks very nice

  • Fab. All these awesome wolverines! How's the weight roughly?

  • Not weighed it so I can't be sure but it feels a touch lighter than the Kaffenback it replaced and a little more lively perhaps too.

Now with added small child (pulling a stupid face) and rack.

The Topeak DX disc here from the old Kaffenback doesnt fit too well - the 'disc' clearances of the rack arent needed, a normal rack will clear the Spyre calipers here quite easily by the looks of things. Also this rack has quite cumbersome lower mounts, large and squared off. They interfere with the mount brazeons something awful. Gonna swap for a normal non-disc non-DX Topeak I think.

Plan is boy on the back, low riders on the front. I'd also planned something to mount to the midpoint mounts on the fork, something like a Nitto M18 but black. That way I can have a small platform rack year round and just add on the low-riders when needed. But now i've got everything together I can't find anything like the M18 but in black that'll mount at those fork positions.

Anyone with some front rack ideas? Alternative is something like a Pelago front rack, but then there's no way to separate the platform from the (not-lo actually) pannier mounts.

  • Did you import the frame? Looking to build one up sometime soon.
