he's talking about doing H25/8 not H25/2...
-
• #13603
So he is.
-
• #13604
H25/8 you don't need to worry about gearing, you need to worry about making sure everything is torqued right and you have dental cover.
-
• #13605
H25/8 is not so bad! It misses out the bumpy(er) bits of the other H8 courses.
-
• #13606
Recommended gearing for the H25/8?
There's nothing taxing on the course for fixed, so any gear will do. Hard to give any useful guidance without knowing what time you're aiming for and what cadence you like, but you can gear to be at optimal cadence at your average speed and you won't be far wrong anywhere.

Dead To Me.

Well chuffed. First 1o in seven odd years on a course I haven't ridden before, and didn't get lost. Also chuffed with the time I did on a road bike with no specific training bar a couple of roller sessions last week. I enjoyed it too, which probably means I could go harder/faster.
Always preferred track and road when racing previously, may be swayed to the dark (TT) side.

You can do it on what ever you want. As long as it's got brakes- So a fixed with a front brake counts
-
• #13610
... As long as it's operable from the bars' widest point.

He was on it and managed to get the very first 58t available when we opened up the order on the 15th. Hayley's on normal rings as she might be using the little ring on occasion.

Hey I'm doing the updates OK!
No. Welcome to the fun world of CTT course regulations. You do have to ride up the hill to get to the start though.
