  • I hit < minus 60 once and my knee blew up. So I recommend not going that far

  • I wouldn't say a negative peak is an idication of worry.
However a long time at a negative number might be.
But for most people, it's not over training it's under resting.
If you wake up feeling tired, and then still feel tired. Yeaah it's time to rest.

  • My TSB isnt that low. But Ive been ruined today.

Much as Im skeptical about blinding believing a number. The garmin recovery advisor gives a nice indication of heart fatigue.

At least garmin didn't right the maths behind it.

  • Garmin implementation quality though.

    2+2 = potato

  • CTL currently lower than 7 day booze units.

    Who needs TSB.

  • Currently at -32.6 and forecast is -40.... Booze matching, will probably start putting a bucket next to the trainer.

  • Had the official word from Cycleops

"Yes, the first 15 minutes or so of a training session are generally lighter resistance than the rest of it because the trainer itself needs time to warm up. As the fluid reaches it's ideal temperature there is a definite increase in resistance."

    So that's that then.

  • When you race crit overtrained

When you race crit after a 12 day training break

  • It's something you get on one of the recent updates for 1000/810/510. Basically tells you how much you've mullered your heart on a ride

  • That's the one. I'm only 11 seconds behind @skinny on that one, a target for this year maybe!

    Target achieved. :)

  • And in only 15pages of chat! Good work.

  • Expects new target for andyp imminently.

  • My RP3LC time?

  • No, the featherbed lane one he spent 15 pages of chat trying to beat! I think... Did I misunderstand?

  • Yeah, I set him a new target!

  • @skinny would have to ride a long way for his warm up.

  • I reckon it's near impossible for most people to train much at all while looking after a baby/toddler. You're fucked I'd say. I was and still am from being the main carer.
However the 'Better Gym' near me has a creche and half decent spin bikes (have spd pedals, can set up position). I'm working my way back with 2x1 hour sessions a week and a ride at 6:30 a.m on the weekend. Good luck and stay cool!

  • I feel your pain... Luckily I have somewhere I can set up a trainer which won't wake anyone up. So I now either do 5.30-6.30am sessions or 8.30-9.30pm sessions. 3y/o and 8-month-old baby, at least they are now sleeping through the night...

  • It's a 10 mile ride across London to get to RP for me, and you never know what the traffic will be like when you get there. Whereas I can be in the lanes of Kent in 15 minutes.

  • I hate richmond park.
It's where cycling goes to die.

  • I rode Featherbed for the first time in ages on Sunday. It's a great bit of road. I've no idea why everyone endures the angry traffic of Layhams.

Looks like a good place to test FTP, so will be back in a couple of weeks to see if this current block yields results.

  • Would be interested to know how it varies between testing on the turbo and on the road.

  • Yeah. It's >20min from the traffic lights to the junction at the top.
    Unless your fast.

I used to always use it. Was great for a set of efforts I used to do. 60sec full gas (up the sharp climb by scrap yard) then 10min at threshold.

  • Sorry, from where to where exactly is it 20 mins for us slow people? I don't know the road but will give it a visit soon from the sounds of things.

  • I can't work out how to post the segment, but on this ride there are various Featherbed Lane segments.
