I think I may have swallowed a bit too much road spray. I feel a wee bit unwell.

It was dry when I rode in.

Cycle to work, work is rained off so cycle home.
day off/10

Me too! I got to work with the most unusual taste in my mouth. Also totally piss-wet but warm in SS jersey and bibs, don't know how people were cycling around in full length waterproofs.

I left my slippers at home.. also the jacket that I wore today soaked up more water than my jeans, I'm unsure how that can actually happen!

Left my sandwiches at home. It'll stop raining by lunchtime, won't it?

Don't know if anyone recalls my encounter with a police car in the segregated filter lane at the north end of Southwark Bridge early last month - but I did submit a complaint to the City of London police which has now been resolved.
The investigation concluded that the car shouldn't have been where it was, but the lane in question didn't come into effect until the next day - so there's no breach of the law. I do, however, have a nice letter of apology on behalf of the force.
In her report, the officer (who shall remain nameless, I'm not on a mission of vengeance here) said that the cyclist she spoke to 'wasn't very polite'.
'Please officer, if you would be so kind, I do humbly request that you refrain from using the segregated cycling facilities in your motor vehicle.'
I'll try that next time...

Commuting on the bus these days as I'm on crutches. On the 159 from Haymarket to Brixton, I noticed this prick driving the 12 behind whilst reading the paper.

Woah - was that bus actually moving at the time of that photo?
-
• #13688
Nope. But every time it stopped in traffic, not even at a bus stop, he picked the paper up for a read - even half way round Trafalgar Square. When he noticed the traffic moving again, he looked up and put the paper down, and started driving again. He wouldn't have been aware of other road users around him. Shocking...

At least he is taking it easy.

108f and heavy traffic on the pedal home today. Deeply, toxically unpleasant. Actually hurt to breathe.

Left at 7, even cabbies and Addison Lee drivers were playing nice.

This wee road closure on Cable St outside Shadwell Overground has me thinking I should just use the road all the time. Usually always green once you reach the Crown & Anchor lights, and the lights onto Royal Mint St always change before the cycle lane. Aside from that, pretty quick ride in this morn: lovely weather, birds chirruping, everyone happy on the roads.
summer/10, yes please, more more more

sorted out the gear ratio on the moulton from 52/16 to 52/13, so positively flew into work this morning. 10/10, whizzy.

First proper commute from Brighton to Gatwick today - Good weather, shitty cycle path.
Looking forward to the ride back!

I don't know what it is recently about the junction of Southwark Bridge Road and Southwark Street, but I seem to encounter more complete cunts there than anywhere else on my commute.
Slowed to a comfortable stop at the red light there this morning on the right hand side of the ASL. There was a fraction of a second where I heard a revving engine, and then a complete idiot on a motorbike steamed straight past my right shoulder with about 30cm to spare (I felt the draft) much to the shock and the amazement of the pedestrian waiting half way across the crossing on the little island
Didn't get the motorcunt's details - gone into the distance before I had a chance to think.
What a complete cunt.
Shame, it was otherwise quite a nice morning.

Good to see lots of flashing front and rear lights on cs3 today. Really enjoyed being strobed and the sunny weather on the longest day of the year really warranted it.

Maybe, but you're only permitted to carry on straight into Royal Mint Street from Cable Street if you use the cycle crossing. :)

Spotted a lady with 'I'M IN' stickers on her backpack, rear reflector and rear mudguard this morning.
The moment of truth is almost upon us.
Slipping seatpost did my nut in, had to stop and had two cyclists offer me help. Just had to tighten it, but it's nice they stopped :)
One is from a local commute forum as it turned out.
Belfast: The friendly cycle place ;)
