Has anyone ridden the E9/25 recently? What's it like to ride?

The criticism she's getting for this from both clueless amateurs and pros is unbelievable.

Two sides to every coin. And I'm sure a lot more to the story than cycling weakly says.

Looking forward to racing teh API 25 next weekend.
Back to my favourite distance. -

Didn't get in by about 30s in the end :( it's also my favourite distance.
Any ideas for a London accessible 25 before the end of the season?

I posted the above question with this in mind - it's next to Chelmsford so 40 mins by train. However I wonder if the course is pretty hilly being SPOCO. Think I will give it a crack as my first 25'.

Sorry I didn't see that before.
It's a single carridge road. Not a very nice one either as it's narrow and fast with lots of turns. I won't even train on it, and I'll ride anywhere.
Give it a miss and find a DC course.

Cheers man, that's really good to know. Back to the drawing board/CTT search function..

H25/8? 1 hour on the train from Waterloo to Bentley and a 5 minute ride to HQ.

Sat. Why you no heckle?
-
• #13538
What did you do?
I'm annoyed I DNSapols but I didn't want to risk not smashing the 100 so it was the sensible thing to do.

You sure he was in it? I can't see him on the start sheet.

Good suggestion... only thing is the only race I'm free for is the day after Lovebox...
Is MDMA on the WADA list?

Oops. No, sorry. He was in the WTTA 100 (the one Ed rode) not the ECCA 100...
EDIT: simultaneous post. Cheers Ed!

You might make it through this one without having to worry about your food intake ;)

I think I already know the answer to this but do organiser take into account the course that people rode to get PBs on when making a cut for a race?
I'd really like to do the BDCA 100 in September, but if the entries are like the ECCA 100 which closed on 4:15 then purely on time I wouldn't get in, but then looking at the guys who beat me yesterday some of them have gone over 20 minutes quicker on normal 100 courses, which rather suggests its not a quick course!
pleased with my consistency yesterday, the first 4 laps were all within 5 watts avg of each other and the last was only down a bit because I had to stop to go back and retrieve my garmin when the adhesive in the mount gave up, then trying to start in a big ass gear going up a hill while trying to shove it into my skinsuit!

Yeah, I haven't do a 25 in a while. But I think no bottle and couple gels/drink before start.
Compared yesterday with Liam, until things went south I was down I was ~30sec down at 60 miles.
Really weird. It was for sure bonk, as I felt great, legs good, breathing good. Not hurting, just riding good. And then bam, nothing.

No. Sorry!

My 25 pb was done two days after an end of uni bender...
-
• #13549
Yes but it's not prohibited 'out-of-competition'.
I would imagine there's a very high chance that you'd get pinged for it if you were tested the day after using it though.

I don't bother with drinks in 25s now. I think 50s are the threshold where I'll carry a bottle and 100s where I'll carry gels too. I wouldn't mind trying the bladder thing maybe in this weekend's 50 - did you really just get one of those Platypus things and stuff it down your skinsuit? Do you use an undershirt or anything?
