Today just kind of mildly glosses over the failing of the current formation. The one wide player, Sterling, is devoid of any confidence and has done the square sum of fuck all in the two games.
You then have a bunch of strikers none of whom gravitate out wide and a three man midfield which is designed to play narrow and keep things tight. Our full backs are asked to create all the width and whilst they try hard their end product in the two games has been shocking.
There is also a real lack of invention to England's football because our midfield find it hard to change tempo. Alli and Dier are both talented players but I would have Wilshere playing with them.
A four man midfield of Rooney, Alli, Wilshere with Dier sat behind them offers more ingenuity. Though I thought Lallana had a good game.
Vardy and Sturridge or Kane up top next game please
