Maybe they were inhaled immediately beforehand
In which case there should be a Round Two portion somewhere...

Are Lael and Evan riding together? They were on the same distance this morning and still are now 30 miles later.
They are called 'Laevan' on Sarah Hammond's supporters facebook page

I found that hilarious.
-
• #1107
Half a mile separating them at the moment. No 'taking pace' rules though, are there?
-
• #1108
I just looked at teh 'rules'
Any bike is allowed, even HPV.Windcheetah!
-
• #1109
Rules are a bit confusing. Having watched Inspired to Ride and looking at the 2014 results Juliana/Jesse Stauffer rode together a fair bit, as did the Italians and a handful of others looking at the finish times.

Wanted: Fully-faired HPV with enough room for small liquor cabinet for hippy's 2017 TransAm race.

I guess they turn a blind eye to that but you know that SH crew is going to just claim the only reason she was beaten was the paired riding... whether or not that's actually the case.

There are two kinds of people in the world
- People who finish the burger first and then finish the fries
- People who are doing it wrong
- People who finish the burger first and then finish the fries

...3. People who don't understand ternary

I believe you're allowed to use chips as an entree for, you know, a touch of class but you MUST leave some for after the burger.
-
• #1115
Note I did use the wording - "Finish"
If you get it wrong, just order more fries for teh etiquettez

Probably repost...
@hippy you wanted to know what was in all Sarah's bags... https://www.curvecycling.com.au/blogs/news/118470021-sarah-hammonds-trans-am-2016-gear-and-pack-list

Getting close to Kansas and hoping that the wicked wind from the west which has been fucking with me, whilst I was riding south in Montana, Wyoming and Colarado will work in my favour.

Riding side by side ;-)
-
• #1122
TO be fair. In the transam rules, it does not even mention drafting.
-
• #1123
For Lael and Evan, they are only about 50 miles behind the leader (last time I looked). It wouldn't take much for him to blow up and then they'd be likely to win it, and have some awkward questions...
-
• #1124
OK - didn't know that

Though it does say this 'The Trans Am Bike Race is based on one guiding principle: Cycle the Trans America trail end-to-end, as fast as possible in a solo, self-supported fashion.'
Riding side by side is far from solo.
Indeed. Wendy's has the best fries.
Maybe they were inhaled immediately beforehand
