If I had a dropper on my superfly it would be great at bike parks. I've done all the routes at cannock and forest of Dean with the saddle up my ass but a dropper would be nicer!

Get racey and add a dropper

Know what you mean. Having a CX I think I'd go for a full suspension rig to be able to hit rough and steep terrain. But that's expensive and time consuming so I'm holding it off for another year. But a racey hardtail with a dropper sounds fun too.

have also done the FOD trails with a saddle up my ass, a dropper would have been lovely! issue is all the nice racey frames have 27.2 seatposts - which makes adding a dropper stupidly expensive :-(

it is expensive and time consuming, which makes me wonder if I would miss having a fast hardtail. especially for most of the trails within riding distance of my house in bristol. thanks for info on open, beautiful frame

(and no, you don't want a race XC bike only to put a dropper on it - there's a whole class of bikes to suit your somewhere in-between needs...all of which will be more fun than a race XC bike pretty much anywhere. With the exception of an XC race.)
