If you have the newer Carradice seat bags the clip-on style of light (battery operated, obvsly) clips perfectly behind the the metal logo.

While the Veloce work really well, would not advised it with disc brakes as the levers flex a little, meaning even with compressionless housing, it'll feel a bit spongy with disc brakes.

Wireless electricity?

Ha! I saw this on SA and was going to ask you if I could repost it to this thread. Didn't realise you were on here.

I'll have a re-think then. I do prefer Campag that's on my road bikes compared to Sram on the Elephant.

This is just with the Veloce, I can't recall whether the higher tier shifters will be better (as in less flex from the levers).
Maybe a 11 speed Campagnolo Chorus with a 9 speed Shimano drivetrain would help with the disc brake modulation, but gotta find this out first thought.

Correct, I'm going to have a bash at doing it internally

Does that equate to less friction than with a traditional one that runs along with the wheel?

I think he means running the wiring inside the frame tubes. I'm guessing you're talking about the dynamo?
-
• #12337
I presume you mean dynamo hubs as opposed to dynamos that sat on the tyre? If so yes, as well as a lot brighter lights, USB charging etx

It needs a proper front rack/basket sorting out, but this bike gets ridden every day (often with a large 2 year old on the back) and I love it.
Hoping for some camping expeditions this summer if I can get my arse in gear.

Does anyone know what size MTB tyres I can fit on my Straggler without mudguards.
I've got an MTB Marathon coming up and I'd rather use the Surly than my full sus trail bike, however i don't want to do it on low volume tyres.I Know I can get in something bigger through the fork than through the chainstays but I'd like an idea of a max front and back?
Ta!

Depends on the tyre/rim combo and where you run the wheel in the drops. You're looking at around 1.95 on the back with some reasonable mud clearance, maybe a small 2"... In the front I think about 2.1, maybe a small 2.2

thanks andy, don't suppose you know which come up small do you? I'm thinking of Rocket Ron's or X-Kings something like that.
Because of my saddle bag.
It's quite common to mount lights there
