  • Scumbags. All of them!

  • They already know, I need proof from customs which is going to prove to be an issue as I can't Korean Customs don't have an email address, and the phone number the shipping company gave me doesn't work on my phone.. Going to call the shipping company again but they aren't open until monday...

    ehhhhhhhh

  • I've contacted the seller, I don't think hems recieved anything. Will be on the phone with the delivery company one Monday

  • Last posted 5 days ago so I guess that's the kicker. Will give it the weekend as they may be away.

  • I just had a return on Ebay where I shipped it back but tracking showed seller had been carded twice and was just avoiding receiving it: phoned eBay, agent looked at it and said "that's fine, you've obviously returned it and there's nothing you can do if the seller won't accept it so you're getting your refund back in your account within the hour" I don't see why your case should be any different if the seller won't engage with customs and PayPal korea is dicking you around the UK division should be able to look at it for you and reverse the decision so I'd give them a ring, be polite as the village vicar and say the seller's being a dick and refusing to collect. As long as you have some kind of tracking showing its current status the that's enough.

  • That's sounds poor at the very least and I'd be concerned too: a full week is ample time for delivery to be made, or at the very least let you know why it hadn't been and when it would be.

This isn't intended to be finger-wagging or preachy (and is as much for the information of others as you) but even when you've done your "due diligence", there's always the "abducted by aliens/run over by a bus" scenario: a seller can be as straight as a die, but in the event of the foregoing you're still out of pocket.

Give it the weekend, then post details here: hopefully someone knows them and will give them a nudge.

  • Problem is the tracking is only showing, 'awaiting presentation to customs.' It doesn't state any other information. I'm starting to think that the delivery company is at fault here and has fucked up. I'm going to speak to them on monday, if that doesn't get me anywhere, my dad knows someone who speaks korean and will be able to phone korean customs and hopefully find out what the hold up is.

  • Good sense-check. Appreciate the advice.

  • I'd maybe speak to the courier company and ask them to email you a screen shot of their tracking info as it will no doubt be more detailed than what you're able to see.

What company was it you used again?

  • Well I booked through Parcel Supermarket which is a 3rd party company, but the its currently with Landmark Global. I can't contact landmark directly, so I have to talk with parcel supermarket and then they have to contact landmark for me.

  • hmmm.

Hopefully they'll be able to get some kind of hard proof for you to pass on to Paypal and a contact name for them to be able to verify. If you do that I really don't see how they can refuse you a refund...

  • I reckon the seller has kicked off with PayPal more than you have, and they've closed in his favour in a hope to resolve the matter.

You need to kick off, raise a formal complaint, speak to manager.

You have done everything they have asked and you've been provided misinformation multiple times.

I work in the banking industry, and I believe that if you kick off sufficiently you will be reimbursed even if it comes out of paypals own pocket. They have misinformed you, they advised you would be fine, they can't backtrack. If it's misinformation then they need to compensate you.

You followed their instruction, and now you're frameless and fundless.

Accepting the frame back is not an option, you are not paying for a damaged frame from a seller who has threatened and attempted to intimidate you (not the behaviour of a "good trader".

Paypal need to take ownership and refund you, then deal with the seller.

  • Just spoken to someone helpful at PayPal. He said that the request for me to get documents from Korean customs was ridiculous. He read through the whole case and said that with the evidence presented, there's enough reason to believe that the seller might be holding the item in customs, and even if he isn't, the responsibility shouldn't be held on me. He's submitted my case to the appeals team with notes stating that they should side with me. Hopefully I'll have my money in 48h!

  • Booyah!

  • OK, I said I'd give it til after the weekend.
Would appreciate it, if anyone knows @JB they could reach out to him for me.

    Thanks guys.

  • Surprised by this, he's a top boy, have dropped him a message for you.

  • Good stuff!

  • Thank you - He got in touch. Totally excusable oversight. Promises to take care of it tomorrow. Resolved, thanks guys.

  • @JB is a good guy. I get the distinct impression that he's stupidly busy at the moment.

  • This, @jb would not be the kind of person to mess you around.

  • He explained and was super apologetic. Given what he told me I fully understand. I'm cool with it

  • FML Claim has failed. Paypal are a bunch of twats. Will be on the phone again tomorrow...

  • Where do I post about bad retailers? I'll post here for now.

Winstanley bikes are an absolute joke. Will never use them again.

  • wut? I'd be beside myself by now. Volcano.

  • Just spoken to them, again the lady read through everything and said that they should of sided with me. She's escalated the claim up to the next level which should reveal why it was rejected.

The never ending dispute goes on..
