To (60k) and fro (60k) the 'Strade Bianche Brabant' gravel ride (120k) yesterday. Hot, dusty, bumpy and sunny, great company and some new acquaintances. Fixed 46x16. Would ride again!
(I did something like this about a year ago and remember that I almost decided to take the train for the last 10k home because of cramps and general wreckedness, this time it went much better.)

I am taking part in the Birmingham Bikeathon in July https://bloodwise.org.uk/event-challenges/cycle-bikeathon/midlands/birmingham-bikeathon and so am currently enjoying my evenings cycling along the Sussex coast- there is nothing better to make me appreciate living by the sea!

Ta Foxy, I think I might need to practise riding up hills a bit more before having a go at either of them. I seem to get all huffy and puffy! Is that normal? :)

Nice James.
I rode up a mountain in the sun.
Manic start. Heart rate hits threshold. Then you hold it there till you finish. I thought i could hold 270w the whole way up. Managed 1:15 at near that. Then got very suddenly tired. The last 2km were brutal. That noise s toddler makes when theyve cried so hard theyve forgotten to breath. HHHHHHUUUUUU! HHHHHHHHUUUUUUU!
I was doing that for the last 2km.Fucking amazing day though. Plus i smashed 7mins off my PB.

Did half of South Downs Way yesterday. Being fat weakling doesn't help with hill climbs!

Yep, I was in Jo'burg for a few months and flew down to CT specifically to ride Chapmans Peak and the rest of the Argus route. Bumped into Dan Craven on the plane and he hooked me up with some cool locals to ride with which was nice!
Also did some lovely riding up north of CT on the Stellenbosch, and headed out east along the garden route to do the Outeniqua Pass. Stunning roads and scenery all round.
Some great riding to be had up in Jo'Burg too, although riding through the city is a massive pain. Several very close calls for me. The Cradle of Humankind has some great roads, but is very desolate once you get out there, I ran out of water on a ride out there once and was a horrible 60km in 35 degree heat to the nearest place that had running water! But yeah, there is some lovely riding to be had in SA, make the most of it whilst you're out there!

Long weekend extending into Monday today, rode up Norton Summit again and down Montacute road. Nighttime was 5 celsius in the city, but probably sub zero in the hills. Grass covered in frost, saw my own breath etc.
I felt ridiculously slow on the way up and even more so plus jelly legged on the ridge over to the descent. Proper fast people overtaking me and everything. There are some seriously strong cyclists around here, I gotta say.
Again, I didn't stop on the most scenic bits because that's where you're also grinding up the hill., but I did take those shots at a random spot where my stem cap started rattling and I needed to fasten it.
Descent was so cold I couldn't feel my hands and toes anymore. Not used to cold weather down here in Oz.

Not taken on today's ride, but yesterday when I hiked up Black Hill which is just north of Montacute Road. To give you guys and impression of the typical Adelaide vistas.

Rode London-Edinburgh on Thursday-Friday (not quite the weekend). 715km in a day and a half. Mostly as a test to see how day 1 of the TCR might work for me. Not great weather but 'train hard, race easy', so I'm not complaining (too much). There were some incredible moments though.

Well done and a good write up.
Well, you and the strava thing look monster to me.
So not completely unscathed. Get yourself some arnica I guess. Rapha offer a repair service in case of road rash, no?
