But I think you should go full neo retro
Such as? Ahead style Thomson or others? I don't like the bulky alu stems; they don't match the small diameter frame tubes. It's different for later steel tubing (+30 mm diameter).

Black stem, silver post, "team leader" white bar tape.
And speaking of "small diameter frame tubes", those cranks look a bit chunky to me.

This is my street sleeping, lock up pomp that I've used to commute during the last winter. Originally built up with spare parts & it's handled the swedish winter like a champ. However, once again I've found myself incapable of not upgrading components. Life is too short to ride shit bikes & basically I can't help myself. So, yeah, new fork-stem-drive train kinda day.

Go to a bunch of LBSs and ask if they have spares. I got lucky and mine had the exact Cannondale one i needed. If you run out of options might be worth asking them actually, they have loads of cannondale spares: Ben Thomson Cycleworx

Thanks both, ive actually found the one that i thought i had lost/binned now so will use that one for now (allthough uts a pressfit type one and the bung bit (for lack of better description) isnt very tight and so can be removed very easily, will see if this plays up with the gearig at all or if as im hopibg the cable tension keeps it in place?

• #108413
Cable tension should keep it in place. Mine was just a 'bung' and the FD cable is always tight enough to hold it securely

getting there slowly.. friendly neighbourhood cat decided to join, offered her a treat for keeping me company. more pics in my CP thread
anybody has any idea why the freehub would stick on a fulcrum 5? when it's out of the frame, it turns smooth, when the qr is closed, it turns into fixed wheel.. bearings are fine, spacers are fine, nothing is overtightened..

Built this up today as my summer everyday bike. LOOK KG233 off of here, old best wheels and all the bits off my winter bike.
Spot the deliberate mistake.

One of the track ends are a tiny bit higher than the other causing the wheel to sit slightly off centre at the seat stays.
I want to remove a bit material from the track end to allow the axle to sit a bit lower. Doing it on both sides could give me a welcome mm of extra tyre clearance.
My question is what should I add over the axle to secure it down?
See exaggerated illustration attached. Contrary to the drawing my axle already sit at the edge of the track end so I want all the support I can give it. I can't see myself welding or brazing anything in there though.
Any suggestions welcome.

Just file it, will be fine, I've done it before. You're not exerting much force on the ends. Imagine trying to bend out with the grip provided by a file!? Not like you're levering it with a a pair of grips

Is there a formula to getting the correct numbers out, say if a 650b wheel with a X mm tyre is equivalant to a 700c wheel with a X mm tyre?
So as an example - a 650b with a 48mm tyre = 700c tyre with 28mm tyre. This is probably not correct but you get the gist of it.

622 minus 584

A 700c with a 28 is almost the same as a 650b with a 46mm tyre. Rim/tyre combinations may vary.
Plenty of data here:
