  • That's the wrong hinge. Ed is talking about the rear triangle pivot.

    I've had the brompton training to replace it. It's much easier with the correct tools but can be done without. Not sure I'd take the risk personally though.

    I know of one Evans head mech that mucked up the repair by greasing the screw heads after doing the complicated bit. Dumb luck is only the drive side screw came loose and was prevented from falling out due to the chainsets being in the way.

    I guess with Evans it can be the luck of the draw if your mechanic is clued up. Shame they move staff around so much. You can't build up much of a relationship with the customers. Definitely some good guys in the company though.
