Thinking about this, the current eTap can be used with CX1, just need the wireless derailleurs to match.

Actually be a good move to able to have either road groupset or CX with a simple swap of the derailleur and cassette.

Lastly and very importantly, torque your lockring (around 40Nm), this will hold the cog on the freehubs properly making it less likely to dig in too much.

DA 7800 was released years ago...

hahaha 7800 was peak gross shimano, absolutely their aesthetic nadir. Wouldn't ride it if you paid me (granted, not a problem I'm likely to encounter)

7800 isn't pretty though, it's function-only in the extreme.

Regardless of your nostalgia for Shimano scaffolding, Hydro eTap is the one.

It must be amazing to be in Shimano's position where Sram bares all the R&D and recall cost and they can just use this "research" to come up with a better, cheaper, more durable product.

Keep 'innovating' Sram.

I'm not sure that 'johnny-come-lately second best' is a market position any company wants to be in, but if laurel-resting and ripping off the hard work of others counts for anything they're doing a fair old job of it :)

@hippy I'm going to stick with my Tesla analogy. Just wait for Shimano to clock on that wireless shifting is the future... I'm sure they'll have a revamped Di2 group out for 2020, maybe, if they're lucky.

Oh, as for ripping off - you might notice the SHAM recalls. That's what happens when you try to get to market first and get the jump on Shimano who are already in development but like to actually product test before rushing their stuff out.
