Too much risk, shell need to be in good condition to fit new copper washer.
But isn't there a specific (and expensive) tool for that purpose?
I changed a Brompton frame due to a crack, not hinge problem, was a 20 y.o. frame, and I remember how financially painful that was...
If too risky because lack of precision tool / machine to do this in standard workshop, Brompton should offer a factory service to save the frame, what happened to saving the planet ffs?
If copper washer bonded to frame, why can't it be reamed out rather that replacing frame?
