They are fun to ride -

Finally a campout! Just the regular spot, but it is a nice one. Forgot to take a proper pic of the bike. Looking forward to get the framebag sorted – that will pretty much nail this setup. Bigger cassette is also needed.

That setup looks really great!
Did you try loading it up with the front panniers?
Wondering how balance is with the pizza rack + front panniers + saddle bag, as looking into this setup. -

Haven't tried it with panniers, but it should be fine. The pizza rack feels a little less stable than the Tubus when loaded up, which is to expect as it's only attached at three points.

This thread inspired me to pick up an Expert for commuting duties and throw on the pizza rack. It's no looker but does the job perfectly. Rock solid running fully loaded panniers they did a good job designing the front end methinks.

Okay, so I finally got time to get going on the framebag. Like sketched earlier in the thread, I wanted to make one to fill the space above the bottles.
I managed to get hold of some PU coated Cordura with the camo pattern of the Norwegian Armed Forces. I like the look of it, more than the camo pattern of the seat bag. Ordered YKK water repellent zipper in correct length and found the rest I needed at work.
It's a bit tedious work when you're inexperienced, double checking everything, but I have sown a little bit before so I had pretty good faith that it would turn out alright. Sewing fabric on the backside of the velcro to protect the frame and little stuff like that takes a lot of time.
Will update with more pics later when it's all done.

Nice work man.

Pretty happy with it. It's not very big, but I knew that already. Will be great for tent poles and heavy small stuff.

Just curious, how is the 38 x 11-42 working out for you in Norway?
Planning a trip next year and wondering if we should go 1x or not. -
• #163
How do you know it's 11-42? AFAIK, this is standard setup from AWOL, which has 36 as a bigger sprocket - plus, you see it's about the same size as the front ring, hence...

Cheers.
It's crap, I need to sort something else. Anyone have any ideas?

After a weekend with too many beers, the decision to head out to the woods for a campout was probably the best one I've had for a while. Framebag worked great and the new ski straps I've gotten did too. Will get a 20l pack for the rack and looking to sort some sort of feed bag or gas tank.
This was how it looked 7 AM this morning. Was home at 8 and came in at work at 9.

Great looking awol and good job on the frame bag!
If you want a splash of white on the bike I have an unused revelate gas tank laying around. Anti camo though, but surely you're making a snow camo framebag for winter use :)

This is excellent. Very inspirational.

I like the bumbag round the saddle bag, i'm pinching that.

@sykodrama: Snow camo, haha. I think I'll pass on the white until I have that ready, but thanks for asking.
@spotter: Yea, it's actually quite handy.
A couple more from heading back this morning.

Incoming.
And, just a week until I leave for California, bringing this bike. We'll have a rental car, but the plan is to do a few loops with camping. Two week trip.
