I'm down to ride my first 25 on Sunday at HWCC too but I couldn't request a late start time and the first train from London gets in half an hour after my slot. Am I missing an easy way to get there for 0700 other than owning a car?

This is for TCR, right? Might as well tape them for, no?

Car share with club mate?

Where my hands go, yeah, that makes sense (didn't have time to before BCM) but what about the other ends? I still need to find some kind of cap/plug so they're not just sharp edges.

or just HTFU?

Preventing injuries is part of ultracycling. Removing the chance of disemboweling myself if I go over the bars or gouging my knees on a climb for the sake of 50p worth of plastic seems like a good investment to me.
Anyway, let's focus on the fact you suggested road bar ends again shall we?
I knew I was fucking right. hippy is always right. -

It'd be hard to disembowel yourself when there's a road bar-end in the end of an extension.
Why not just chop the excess extension? Instant weight saving. You're welcome.

I plan to cut them... once they're adjusted.
I still want to plug them and if I do run TT shifters it'll neaten the cable exit and stop me crushing the cable into the bars with knees or leaning it against something.
I want some of these things:

Image 23:
Simon also has his own range and wind tunnel testing centre in the UK that he runs under the name Drag2Zero. This is one of his wheels on the team Dimension Data bikes as Enve are yet to produce a disc wheel. On close inspection it's quite clearly a Lightweight Autobahn rebadged.
Doesn't look like an autobahn to me. I've not seen one of the d2z discs up close, but it looks like d2z to me.

It doesn't have the two part circles like a d2z.

so a couple of friends have had their entry returned for H&D wheelers and while they had slow PBs (5+ hours) its convinced me I wont get into the ECCA 100 event in June, have just sent an email to organiser stressing I will definitely be a reserve for the event as I'm really keen to do a 100 this year.
edit just noticed a "hardriders" 100 on the same day - can I enter both as I have naff all chance of getting into the ECCA one...

• #12894
What's your 100 PB?
-
• #12895
I got into the H&DW 100. Must have been my optimistic estimation time.
Hope I don't get an early start time. Because, mission there.

4:46:26 - was my first ever open, think im a little better than that now...

saw that Davidw is predicting the dude you beat a couple of weeks ago to win by >15 seconds, suspect there's a little bias there!
On the plus side for me weather conditions are looking ok for H10/8 on Saturday afternoon and at their best earlier on Sunday for H25/2!
Plus the organiser has said he thinks there's a good chance of getting a reserve spot!

Ha. Leave them to it. He might, I've been right ill.
Hope the weather is good for you. Nothing like a good day.

I deleted an @umop3pisdn style trolling comment before posting it..
fingers crossed for the weather - I've had plenty of power PBs this year but not much in the way of time PBs as I've done races on cold or shitty days so far!
It's bumpy - hang on. There's a turn - learn it.
