  • New tyres time, lighter than the original (334g), look better with the silvers than the gumwall, less @miro_o hating too.

    GB mudguard it is, once it arrives, it'll be fitted.

  • come a long way since not being able to fit a Randonneur 7 years ago Ed.

  • suck my randonneur

  • I asked Busyman about these in November 2014 and the soonest he could do one was July 2015, also a basic Romin cover was $230 Australian.

    Unless his lead time has improved seems he's not a Busy enough man.

  • Looking good by the way Ed. Liking all the silver.

  • Nice try ;-)

  • Hah! Was supposed to be chrome but turn out to be harder than originally thought.

    Still silvers look real nive, and sincei got a "beater" 650b, I can go all flashy on this one.

  • I can't wait to see this put back together. It was a great bike already, so looking forward to seeing it 'flashy'.

  • hopefully it will be a shallow depth of field unfiltered pic

  • I like the silver paint very much Ed.
    Have a look at this bike. Brown leather saddle and silver frame as well.
    The gum-hoods and the red bartape brings it all very nice together don't you think?
    The bike is from Fern.

  • Few more thing to sort out;

    • washer to be fitted to fill in the gaps between the mudguard and frames.
    • cabling and adjusting the brakes.
    • redoing the dynamo as it now stopped working after fitting the mudguard, argh.
    • mudflap on the front (maybe rear too).
    • bar tapes + pedals

  • Looking good ed. I'm not so keen on the saddle and seatpost but I guess fit/comfort trumps looks.

  • When that bike was made, it was build with a standard geometry (73 degree seat tube), as I'm using Brooks saddle and a layback Nitto seatpost so it'll look on point.

    Fast forward to now, after finally finding the perfect saddle, I end up needing an in-line post and modern saddle on it, I would have asked Ryan to do a steeper seat angle of 75 degrees so the saddle sit in the middle of the rail like on my Keirin bike, still it's not too offensive looking, sorta go well with the black tyres and carbon Record levers.

  • I like the BBQ attached to the mudguard stays

  • Classy

  • Finally a drive-side shot! Think gumwalls would look really nice too, and what colour bartape? ... asking all the big questions.

  • This looks fantastic! Really like the monochromatic colour choice.

    What bars are these again? There are a lot of pages to go through...

  • Newbaum's blue;

    @Tijs Nitto B105, might have to change it to the B115 as it might be 15mm too short, bike originally designed with 100mm stem and 115mm reach handlebar.

  • Looks bang on.
    The black and silver is clean and doesn't 'need' skin walls.
    With the SMP I think that fits better with the 'modern' black tyres and is that a black chain too?

  • Just dark I think, it'll have a black cassette as the Shimano HG50 7 speed come in black.

    The last paint jobs work best with gumwall, this look more French with Blackwall.

  • Good combo! Rear mudguard line needs some work

  • Also get one of those Gaston posts ;)
