It doesn't say so explicitly in the article (unless I've missed it), but presumably these things, if they ever make it into real life, would be powered by the bikes? I mean, it would seem absurd to put a diesel engine in it, but everything else about this idea is absurd and that doesn't seem to be putting them off.
