not taking credit as LBS did it; I have no means of cutting metal at home. And should probably call it a "bracket"
saw a "nicer looking" solution in an online shop - kind of a tube with holes through it each centimetre or so (so can be adjusted anytime). goes inside the fork crown I understand.

Hi. Mudguards arrived yesterday. Look like they should be ok but need to get some brake bolts so I can attach them to the frame. How did you make an extension as ill be running a front rack as well?
