Stones & Lukaku are defo off and it's nothing to do with having no money or balancing the books.

Warburton is a good bet for the Watford job I reckon.

will always have a soft spot for Hughton (ex spurs and all) also thought he got a rough deal at Newcastle getting them up into the premiership and then getting the boot, not too sure about his time at Norwich, but if he can get Brighton up as well, and then keep them up, he'd be in the debate..
-
• #128006
if that's the case, why are they going? You don't have ready made replacements on the books I don't think, you'll know better than I do, which means you'll have to go out and buy to replace, so why sell if it's not to balance the books?

would he leave Rangers? He's done well up there, got them playing nice football (so I hear) and aren't they back in the big time now, so the chance of getting into Europe and testing himself there...

A good mate of mine coached Elmander's missus at tennis whilst he was at Norwich. Apparently Hughton = dunce. I don't rate hime. Hardly comes across as a tactical genius. Can't string a sentence together without at least two standard footballer catchphrases.

I never said he was a good businessman.

Both want immediate CL football

They're still not good enough IMHO... #toomuchtoosoon

Impatience and Lukaku go hand in hand.

They're under contract, just because they want away doesn't mean you have to sell, isn't that what big clubs do? And back to the new manager question whose going to want to come in knowing that your main goal scorer and "best" defender want away...
If they are under contract tell them if they want champions league football, play better and help the one they are on get there...

This is where the players have the clubs by the balls.

Chelsea offer Terry another year.
Is that Abrahamovich's doing? Will Conte ever play him?

That's a crackin 12" that

Overlooked this first time round, Rooney, Rodwell, Barkley and now Stones, who else.
Southampton in the same time have produced Walcott, Bale, Ward-Prowse, Lallana, Chambers, Shaw, Oxlade-Chamberlain, Rodriguez, and that's not even counting the older and foreign ones like Lambert, Bridge, or Schneiderlin... -

Clubs need to push back, contracts a contract, if players can come in and ask for extra cash when they feel they've out performed their contract, or in an ego move because someone else in the squad is getting more, then clubs have the right and obligation to hold them to the terms of the contract if they want away, and to suspend wages if they don't turn up and do the job they are contracted to do...
Know it hasn't worked out for West Brom in relation to Berahino, but sometimes these situations don't. Kind of worked out for us with Modric, with the Chelsea bid, but we still sold him in the end. -

I think there has to be some compromise from both sides.

Let's hope Captain Dogfood stays and fucks it up for the new bloke
-
• #128023
I don't think he'll get a look-in with Conte - he's no longer good enough and Chelsea have probably offered him new terms out of pity.
-
• #128024
Usually compromise means the club sells the player for large profit and then spunks said large fee on shite replacement...
Continuity in football and most other sports is sorely underrated, keeping a squad/team together and adding extra pieces can be the difference between winning a league and mid table scrabble
