    In a previous lifetime, we had a history of buying players who were in the sunset years of their careers. A policy implemented by Redknapp that he did quite well with at Portsmouth too.

    That said, Pompey look at bit screwed nowadays.

    I also gather that 'Arry still hasn't sold his gaff on Sandbanks either. Doesn't really need to now though.

    Isn't that policy one of the reasons he has a history of leaving clubs on the edge of bankruptcy? It looks like good business as you get the player on the cheap but that's because they have no resale value. Then you have to pay exorbitant personal terms as the player and agent know that they are basically earning their pension on the last contract they will ever get.
