You should have a look. I'm almost certain it's an old linotype script but can't find a match in my limited time. That and there's many variations on kleins.

I'm concerned at where you have your rails positioned on that Speedneedle - looks like they're clamped just on the bend?!
Miss my Speedneedle - did a summer in the Black Forest on it and it was very suprisingly comfy - just got a Komm Vor I need to test...

komm vor is (are?) the best. if anyone wants to swap a white for a black then do let me know (possibly the longest shot ever)

I'm glad to hear this - it's unfathomably light.
I loved the rail weave on the Speedneedle though, and the rather industrial sticker rather than wavy "TUNE" typeface that's pretty in your face on the Komm Vor -

I was partly joking about the need to charge extra - don't know if it was the rims or quite what, but I've never struggled to get a pair on like this before. Really thought about just giving up and buying something else.

that is extremely cool - I bet it rides amazing on 30c!
-
• #5533
That's bigger than the rubber on my mrs's town / touring bike ffs
But it rides nice though :)

It just looked like it's clamped on the bend, but it's really not, it's just resting on the bottom clamp, the top clamp is far more in front of the rails. I agree, it's really comfortable, when I got it, I thought it's going to be some sort of ass hatchet, but I was surprised how comfortable it was!

Do you recon the Disc version of the CAAD12 could take 30c and mudguards?
Surely that would be the ultimate winter trainer.

Ass Hatchet
LOLed all over waitrose as I read that
-
• #5537
CAAD 12 disc is as shit and flawed as caad10 - even more so with that fucking stupid 25.4 seatpost. But will take 30 mm of rubber
-
• #5538
30c is really tight already, Mudguards wont fit at all, 28c might allow it though but going to be tricky
-
• #5539
might be doable with 25 and some minimalist road bike guards
-
• #5540
Yeh, that would be the safest bet.

tyres are tyres, shouldn't need to charge extra just because they didn't like how difficult it is.
lol not really though.
Ive seriously debated selling my Chris King wheels because of how difficult fitting nice tyres is to the rims (pacenti sl23). Cheap tyres seem to be less of an issue but why ride cheap tyres...
-
• #5543
hmm yes, didnt consider this that much but of course you dont have to put the guards all the way between the tyre and the chainstays. There is plenty of room between the seatstay and the tyre. And fork has more clearance than the rear.
-
• #5544
this is with 25mm challenge tyre on a 25mm outer 16mm inner rim
-
• #5545
from what I can see, nope, not even the crud roadracers. there's like 1-3mm gap between the tyre and the brake bridge, maybe even less.
edit: oh, no brake bridge on the disc version? if that's the case, then yeh, it'll fit with mudguards
-
• #5546
I was talking about the disc version, hence no brake bridge. You've got plenty of space there, perfect fit!
-
• #5547
Yeah they're rowdy as, but the internal routing thing is just awful. I'm getting more and more annoyed with a bike that sounds like a bag of spanners.
-
• #5548
Here's the front with 30c, if we have the same fork clearance measurements for rim and disc then it'll be ok
-
• #5550
Meh it's just shit engineering
YES!!!
